I know this looks like alot to read, but you should know how to take care of yourself. After all, you got nothing better to do! what are ya gona do? Go skating? You rolled your ancle!

If you skate street or vert, it doesnt matter chances are someday you will roll your ancle. Depending on how bad it is you can be put out of skating for a couple days, or a couple months. Rolled ancles are really common and if it happens to you you need to know how to look after yourself so that it heals gooad and fast.

What happens is that your ancle rolls inwards onto the side and you weight all comes down on it. It streaches the muscles and tendons. Thats why it hurts so much. Theres 3 ways that it can happen. The ligaments can get streched, the ligaments can get torn, or the tendons get ripped completely.

If you roll your ancle and you think its bad, or even just semi bad or not good, then you should see a doctor. They know more about this than I do, after all im just a 14 year old skater who listens to punk music and gets 60s on his report card.

If you do some of these things it can help it heal faster so you can get back out and skate again. First, dont put weight on it and never keep skating. If you skate before its completely healed then it'll be weak and easier to roll again... So you should get a brace or something for it to make it heal bettter. Right now i have a rolled ancle and i tied 2 small pieces of wood on ether side of my ancle and am staying off of it. But i didnt roll it bad at all, but i still cant skate for a few more days and i still have to look after it. But dont keep the brace or splint on too much or it'll heal but stay weak. Your ancle will rely on the support of the brace and be weak. But the most important thing is to stay off it, dont play any other sports or skate while its healing. Even when it feels good enough to skate you should give it a little more time to heal completely. After all, would you rather go without skating for a week right now, or go a month without skating later on?

But the most important thing is to go see a doctor if you rolled your ancle, dont be stubborn. I rolled my ancle but its not too serious so i didnt see a doctor. I cant skate for about 5 days, so thats not too bad. But I have a brace on it and am taking an extra couple days off of skating when it feels better to be safe. But you should go see a doctor, I just know how to take care of it but all this wont help you if you dont do it right, SO GO TO A DOCTOR TO GET IT CHECKED OUT! This is all i can help you with, hope you can skate soon.
