I'm a seventeen-year-old poet from Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. I am currently living with my parents, Sandra and Peter, who have offered great support and encouragement with my poetry. I have four adorable cats, Pepper, Juny, Mini, and Ginger.
I have been writing for almost three years and have written around two hundred and fifty poems in total. Some are good and some not so good. I am currently a student at the Sheffield College studying Health and Social Care. I have a wonderful Fiancé, Shaun and we've been in love for just over two years now. Our engagement was on the 12th of February 2005, and it was the most romantic day of my life. Shaun is a loving and very generous man who is also a great inspiration to my poetry. Shaun is a fine writer himself and he has written stories and poems of his own. However, his greatest talent is creating his own works of art through drawing. Shaun and I have shared so much together so far and we both look forward to the many times we have yet to come.
I started writing poetry when I wanted to find a poem to give to a loved one. I found a poetry site where people could submit their own work and so I wrote a poem. I showed it to my friends and family and they all enjoyed it. So then, I wrote another, and another, and another. Soon the new thing I had found grew into a hobby, then an obsession, and finally, a big part of my life.
Since I've started, I've grown and so has my poetry. I feel I have developed a lot and I have written in a board range of forms and topics. I have had a couple of poems published in anthologies and people have requested to use my poems for weddings, funerals, and graduation yearbooks. In the future, I wish to be a social worker, and I am currently studying for that career. I look forward to sharing her life with Shaun, I hope to marry him and then start a family of our own some day. I really hope my poetry career grows and goes as far as possible. I admire many brilliant poets such as Emily Dickinson, Sylvia Plath, Edgar Allen Poe, and William Shakespeare, and it is my dream to some day be as established, if not, as half as established as those well known names...
