After awhile you learn the difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul
You learn that love does not mean dependance
And company does not mean security
You begin to learn that kisses are not contracts
That presents are not promises
You learn to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open
With the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child
You learn to build all your roads on today
Because tomorrows ground is too uncertain for plans
After awhile you learn that even sunshine burns
If you get too much
So you plant your own garden and decorate your soul
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers
You learn that you really can endure
...That you really are strong
...That you truely have worth
And that you really can survive!!!!

 Once upon a dream
In a land far away
Long ago
When inocence was still pure
Heartbreak only a bad dream
A Princess and her Prince
Were together, forever
The way it was saposed to be
Then the world got rearranged
The pain of heartbreak is real
Dreams become memories
Memories turn to tears
Putting out the fire
That once burned in your eyes
The story book closes forever
Your soul closes with it
But try not to give up on all your dreams
Because time has a way of healing things
Time will dry your tears and relight that fire
And maybe in the not-so-far away future
Time will reopen the story book
Then fairy tales will be again.

Time Is On My Side |
Valentines Day |
When I woke up this morning I could not believe my eyes
Because I looked out my window and saw the sun rise
I stared in disbelief at the bright circle of light
Because in my mind it just did not seem right
Everyone was waking up to start the new day
Latter when I looked I saw my dogs at play
The sky was baby blue, not a cloud did I see
Now somebody tell me how could that be?
As I watched my clock minutes then hours flew by
That puzzled me greatly, I couldn't figure out why
So now it is nighttime and while I write
The stars in the sky are shinning so bright
I see the mystical moon too has come back
I shake my head as I reach for my cigarette pack
I cannot explain it has been such a confusing day
I guess I thought life would stop if he went away
How could the sun rise on a day I wouldn't see him
Without him I thought everything would be dark and dim
I think I really did believe time was going to just stand still
But the sun will come up tomorrow and without him it always will
The world did not just stop turning because he is not here
In the end, I guess, that was probably my greatest fear
Well he has been gone awhile and no natural disaster yet
Father Time and Mother Nature are going to help me forget
Forget all about when I thought I'd die without him in my life
Forget all about the love I once felt, the pain, and the strife
The sun, the stars, the moon; from them I cannot hide
I think I understand now that time is forever on my side
The days will go on without him and now I will too
I will find happiness again, I still have alot of living to do!

Everyone can not win on Valentines Day
It comes and goes every year the same way
Some people are happy, some are sad
Some people love the day, others it drives mad
Some get flowers and candy, oh so sweet
Still for others the taste is bittersweet
When there is no one special for you
Cards from your friends just will not do
But Valentines Day you can not forsee
What happens, happens. what will be, will be
Every Valentines is different in its own way
So why not attempt to enjoy the holiday
Even if its been known to make people cry
Its really not so bad if you give it a try
Remember everyone has thier moment in the sun
And it will be over almost as soon as it has begun
Its a day when anything and everything goes
You may get nothing, you may get a rose
Do not worry if its not the year for you
Do not sit around feeling sad and blue
Eventually everyone will lose and win
So think of that with a happy grin
No matter who you are just think someday
This will be your own very special day!!!
