Appearance: 18 to about 20 inches,45-70 lbs, (full grown Shar Pei's usually reach about 70lbs)
Personality:The personality of a Chineese Shar Pei is excellent. They are very protective to their family,and will do anything to protect their house and home! They are very weiry of strangers,and boy,do they show it! They are very nice dogs and very excellent guard dogs,but,boy, do they have a mind of their own,which will make it somewhat hard to train Shar Pei's. The Chineese Shar Pei is excellent with children. Usually,such as in my case,the dog really only has one owner. They only truly listen to one person,and obide by that one person's rules. My 3 year old female Shar Pei Cleo is the best. But,like my mom,dad,and everybody always complains,that dog listens to you and only you,and that is true. Perhaps because I have spent the mos time with the dog,and I let her do whatever she wants. But,whatever the matter,Shar Pei's are very nice dogs,with a splended personality!
Smarts:Okay,I told you I'd bring it to you,so I am...Shar Pei's are very intelligent dogs. They learn quickly,but are VERY independant!!! So,when your dog is a puppy,train that sucker,and train it good! Also,interact the dog wih the WHOLE family,so the dog will listen to not just a certain member of the family!
Coat and Color:Straight harsh coat with loose skin,especially on the head and neck,any solid color permitted with or without darker shading on the back and ears.
Head: large flat skull with a broad square muzzel,small,almond shaped eyes, small,thick,triangular rounded ears.
Tail: Highset,curled,and resting on the back.

Watch dog: High,aloof,and watchful. His/her sober expression tends to make strangers wary.
Guard Dog: High, has a guard dog temerament, but will become friendly with regular visitors.
Activity: Some are athletes, some are couch potaetoes.
