Ayame the Assassin

She saw the cold steel flash in the moonlight. I will get him. Ayame thought as she crept up to his house. I will get him for what he did. She put her sword back in its place and looked around. Nobody around. I will like this. Ayame crept to the door, and slowly and carefully tested the knob. It turned. Slowly and carefully she opened the door and stepped inside. Stupid fool. See what you get for not locking the door.

Ayame slowly walked towards the hall, searching for his room in the dark. Oh I will enjoy this. She thought when she reached his door. Ayame turned the knob, and stopped. He locks his room. Well I can't go through the window. I have no choice but to break in. It's too late to turn back now.

Ayame took her dagger, and slid it in the doorframe. Now we don't have a door problem. She thought as she opened it. Ayame closed the door and walked towards the bed in which he lay. She looked at him lying in the moonlight. The light was streaming through his hair.

"Oh you never looked so handsome." She whispered aloud. Ayame removed her sword. She opened his window above the bed. She bent over and kissed him. "Goodnight sweet prince." She told him as he opened his eyes. Quickly she moved her sword from above her right shoulder to her left. Aldon's head lay on the ground. Quick and silent. She thought as she put her sword back in its scabbard and back flipped out the window. Quick and silent.

Ayame landed outside not making a sound. Well that was easy. She took a step forward, and suddenly a loud noise pierced the air. Oh shit! I'm caught!

"Ah!" Ayame yelled as she fell off the bed. "Damn! What a dream." She said to herself as she got up and turned off the alarm. "Time for school Ayame. Another day of seeing Aldon." She spoke to the mirror. What to wear, what to wear? She thought as she walked towards the closet. She picked out a black mini skirt and a red midriff top. She took a quick shower and threw on some make up and her clothes. She walked to the kitchen and grabbed a bowl of Fruity Pebbles. She picked up the phone and dialed.

"Hello?" a tired Max said.

"Time for school!" Ayame chirped.

"Already Okay. Come pick me up then."

"All right." Ayame said as she took her last bite. "I'm coming. I have to tell you about my dream."

"Oh?you had a another dream? Tell me in the car then. Bye."

Ayame hung up the phone and grabbed her leather boots. I love these things. Makes me look dangerous. She thought as she flicked a piece of dried blood off the top, which only reached the bottom of her kneecap. It made it easier for letting people to know she was there.

She grabbed her Green Day CD from her CD player, and her car keys from the kitchen table. Ayame turned off the TV, of which her older brother Reiko fell asleep in front of. She walked to her car and drove off towards Max's house.

Max walked outside the house with black leather pants, a silver and black tank top, and her black combat boots just as Ayame's black Nissan Sentra pulled up the driveway. "Hey." Max said as she got in. "So...tell me about your dream." Max listened patiently as Ayame explained in detail about her dream.

"So...you dreamt you killed him, then you got caught?"

"No. I said the alarm went off. It was the alarm that made me feel like I got caught."

"Oh"Max said finally understanding."So, you want to kill him then?"

"I don't know. Ayame answered. "I'm just so confused. Well anyways, don't tell anybody."

"Not even Nemesis?" Max questioned.

"No. Not even him. He'll kick me off for sure. I enjoy what I do."

"You enjoy sneaking around and killing people? God! He made you into an assassin. And you actually enjoy this?"

"It's the power." Ayame answered calmly. "And it's not like I kill them for no reason. I'm helping people."

"Oh whatever." Max answered skeptically. You just like the adrenaline you get with your weapons. Max thought.

Maybe I do Max, maybe I do. Max was unaware that Ayame could read minds. Max couldn't understand how Ayame was so cool, calm and collected. She didn't know that Ayame knew what was going on in her prey's mind. She didn't know that Ayame could feel their cold hear, and could read their cold thoughts. That's why she wanted her prey dead. She didn't like the way they were.

They reached school, and parked next to Layni's car. "Hey! How are you guys?" Layni asked them.
