THIS IS HOW TO GET THE SECRET CHARACTER YUFFIE:

One of two secret characters on ff7, Vincent lives asleep in a coffin (!) in the basement of the mysterious Shinra mansion in Nivelheim. Here is how to make him join your group.

Getting Vincent is quite easy. During the game, go to Nibelheim (the place where you have the playable flashback with Sephiroth). Go to the large mansion in the north of the village. Go up the stairs and go to the room on the left with the safe in. Enter the following combination :-

Turn right to "36"
Turn left to "10"
Turn right to "59"
Turn right to "97"
When you have done this, you will fight a boss. Once you have killed the boss, you will obtain the following items :-

Odin summon materia
Cosmo memory (Red XIII's level 4 limit break - see the limit break section for more info)
Left in the safe will be a key. Get this key and then head down to the basement (a secret passage through the bookcase on the far right room upstairs).

After going down the spiral staircase, head down the passage and enter the door at the top of the screen (this is what the key is for). Inside is a coffin. Go and investigate it. Vincent will pop out. Tell him about Sephiroth and then he will go back to sleep. Wake him up again he will tell you his name. Vincent will now go back to sleep again (you will think that you have not got him.).

Try to leave the mansion. As you run down the corridor, Vincent will catch up with you and join your party.

THIS IS HOW TO GET THE SECRET CHARACTER VINCENT:

The second secret character in ff7. Not as mysterious as Vincent, but the most outspoken and mischeivous member of the group.

During any part of the game, run around in a forest (eg. the one south of Cosmo Canyon.). Eventually you will enter a battle with a ninja girl. This is Yuffie.

After you have beaten her, you will enter a new screen. Now do as follows :-

Yuffie will ask if you want to fight again. Say 'not interested'.

Yuffie will now taunt you and say you are scared of her. Say "...petrified".

She will now warn you that she is "really going to leave". Say "Wait a second".

She will then offer you her service. Say "that's right".

Yuffie will now say "All right! I'll go with you!". Now say "...lets hurry on".

Yuffie will now join your party.
You can only get Yuffie like this. If you reply to the questions any differently, she will run off, taking some of your money with her, and you will have to repeat the whole process again.
