MOVIE COMMENTS AND RATINGS

True Lies

1994,Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger,Tom Arnold,Jamie Lee Curtis
-Action.Amazing,intense,and funny. From snowy hills,to fiery waters.A fast paced movie, reccomended only to Schwarzenegger fans or action seekers.Tom Arnold is not an enormous contributor, but Jamie Lee Curtis fits in well.

Braveheart

1995,action-drama,Starring Mel Gibson
-This movie deserved every Oscar it won. Amazing but brutal battle scenes, gripping drama and an incredible ending.
This movie is worth seeing, no matter who you are.
-J

The Thin Red Line

1999,Action-drama,Starring A bunch of guys you've never heard of, and Nick Nolte,Sean Penn,John Travolta,George Clooney
-There are two ways to look at this movie. As a comparison to 'Private Ryan' and the accomplishments of other oscar winners or appreciate the amazing images and message of the movie. I thought 'Red Line' was better than 'Ryan' because of the dramatic effect. Director Terrence Malick uses a special technique of combining moving images with perfect background music.Apparently the big names got small roles because so many came to the scene when they heard Malick was doing a movie. The movie is sometimes so intense,I forgot I was sitting at home, there is something special about this movie; you will like it or not like it.

Saving Private Ryan1/2

1999,action-drama,Starring,Tom Hanks,Matt Damon,John Leguizamo,Directed by Steven Spielberg
-If you are looking to be moved dramatically by this movie, don't watch this. It turns out to be more of an action flick. But a very well done action flick. The first half hour has some gut wrenchingly brutal scenes during the D-Day attack scene. It is shot in a different kind of film that makes the colour appear slightly different.
After all the action and two and a half hours though, you may find something missing.Go figure.

The Usual Suspects!!!!!

1996,Mystery,suspense,action,drama,Starring,Kevin Spacey,Chazz Palminteri,Gabriel Byrne,Director-Bryan Singer
-Simply the best movie I have seen to this date.I remember jumping when Spacey got the Supporting actor award, I thought he deserved it so much, or maybe the movie just deserved something. If you let it, this movie will grab your brain and take it for a ride. You will have to and want to see it twice. The acting is outstanding, the suspense is killer(literally),and the interrogation scene near the beginning is hilarious. The movie is almost like someone reading a choose your own adventure to you accept the actors do the choosing for you.
If you don't see this you are missing out,big time!!
-J
Note:Singer directed Apt Pupil and it sucked hard core
