Can you smell what THQ is cookin'? Well, thanks to the millions and the millions of
wrestling fans that emailed us (and I do mean millions... my e-mail box is still
flooded!), we are finally able to get a small taste of what THQ will have to offer
wrestling gamers this November with Wrestlemania 2000 for the N64! Will the
immortal People’s Elbow be perfectly executed? Will the Godfather's "Ho Train" be in
full effect? You asked for it, and now you’ve got it!

Readers: Can you switch the regular WWF wrestlers, like The Rock, to different
groups? Like since he is in the 'SUPERSTARS' category, can you put his name under
the 'DX' category?

WWF 2000 Crew: Through WrestleMania 2000’s edit mode, both alliances and
rivalries are easily switchable. Players will be able to choose everything from who
will be most likely to run in from backstage to who accompanies characters to the
ring.

Readers: Will Hell In A Cell, Ladder Match, Dumpster Match, Inferno Match, or
Lion's Den match be in the game?

WWF 2000 Crew: No Hell in a Cell, Ladder, Dumpster, Lion’s Den, or Inferno
matches in this version. However, WrestleMania 2000 includes all the most popular
types of specialty matches, including:

Cage matches
Three Way matches
No DQ hardcore matches
Royal Rumble/Battle Royals
King of the Ring tournaments

Readers: Will the Smackdown set be in the game?

WWF 2000 Crew: No. Smackdown’s first show was mere days before WrestleMania
2000’s finish date. The developers did, however, manage to cram a lot of last
minute additions into the game, including updated Titantron entrances for many
characters and Chris Jericho music and video.

Readers: How will The Peoples Elbow look? Will The Rock actually go to rope to
rope then give the Peoples Elbow? Or will it be Cheesy?

WWF 2000 Crew: The People’s Elbow is indeed electrifying. The Rock has the full
animation. Execute it thusly:

1) Choose The Rock
2) With roody poo opponent dazed on the mat, press the A button by his head
3) After The Rock motions to the crowd and begins his run by bouncing off the
ropes, hold down the run button (Down C) to jump over opponent again and
bounce off the opposite rope
4) On the return trip, press the B button while by opponent to deliver The People’s
Elbow in all its glory

Readers: Can you copy someone else’s special move and/or taunt like you could in
WCW Revenge?

WWF 2000 Crew: Yes. Yes, all the special moves can be copied and used against
the opponents. Players can also specify the moves taken from characters via the
Create A Wrestler feature. (I.E.: If players want, they can customize Mankind so
an opponent ‘copies’ a double-armed-DDT instead of the Mandible Claw)

Readers: Can you further explain the "Road to Wrestlemania" feature? It is a
season type mode?

WWF 2000 Crew: Road To WrestleMania is the season mode. Players choose a
character, then try to win enough matches in a grueling yearlong schedule in order
to be deemed worthy to participate in WrestleMania 2000.

Along the way, they’ll form alliances and rivalries, compete for titles, and
participate in World Wrestling Pay-Per-View events like the Royal Rumble,
SummerSlam, and King of the Ring. We counted on participating in over 50
matches before making it to WrestleMania 2000. (The number varies, depending on
factors like titles gained, etc.)From tag team and hardcore matches, to cage
matches, to ‘surprise’ challenges, Road to WrestleMania mode captures the the
heart of the WWF

Readers: Will there be breakable tables in Wrestlemania 2000?

WWF 2000 Crew: No breakable tables in this version.

Pieces of broken table (as in WCW/NWO Revenge) are available as weapons, in
addition to steel steps, guitars, kendo swords, chairs, nightsticks, and other
assorted goodies.

Readers: What is Wrestlemania 2000’s full roster be?

WWF 2000 Crew: WrestleMania 2000 has over 50 characters, more than any other
World Wrestling Federation game to-date.

Readers: Will there be a Dreamcast version of this game, or are you planning to
develop any WWF games for the Sega Dreamcast... and if so, will it support online
gaming?

WWF 2000 Crew: No announced plans yet

Readers: Will there be the addition of no-name (jobbers) wrestlers included like
there were in Revenge?

WWF 2000 Crew: No. In there stead are slots for creating and/or cloning
characters.

Readers: Will there be commentary?

WWF 2000 Crew: Cool crowd noises and tons of authentic music, but no
commentary.

Readers: Does Jericho have his Y2J entrance?

WWF 2000 Crew: This was one of the very last things we were able to squeeze
into the game at the 11th hour. (More like 11:59, really. . . ) Jericho’s music and
Titantron made it in, as did Jericho’s latest costumes.

Readers: How many arenas will there be and could you please list them?

WWF 2000 Crew: There are seven arenas

Raw is War
Heat
WrestleMania
SummerSlam
Royal Rumble
King of the Ring
Survivor Series

Readers: Will wrestlers come out with belts?

WWF 2000 Crew: No, but there is a new ‘Create a belt’ feature that allows players
to create custom belts, save them on a Controller Pak, then put them up for grabs
against human competition.

Readers: Can you write text on the ring aprons in CAPPV?

WWF 2000 Crew: No.

Readers: Will there be the stairs outside the ring?

WWF 2000 Crew: Not for throwing opponents into, but steel stairs is one of the
weapons you can pick up and use against an opponent.

Readers: Will wrestlers be able to fight backstage?

WWF 2000 Crew: No

Readers: Will the Dudley Boyz be in the game?

WWF 2000 Crew: No. (They debuted just a couple weeks ago.) But players should
be able to create pretty good Dudleyz via WrestleMania 2000’s create-a-character
function.

Readers: Will Wrestlemania 2000 contain the same bugs that the WCW games did
on the N64 where you could kick out of any pin by quickly wiggling the analog
stick?

WWF 2000 Crew: No more analog stick escape. That has definitely been fixed.

Readers: And finally will Godfather's hoes accompany him to the ring?

WWF 2000 Crew: Yes, indeed. There are hoes.
