neopets is a great site where you adopt a cute critter and have to feed and look after it. You have too keep it healthy and buy it things with the money which is used in neopets, NEOPOINTS. You can earn neopoints by
a)playing cool neopets games
b)going off and doing jobs (bear in mind that you need job coupons to do this, and they are rare and cost a lot of neopoints to buy!)
c)doing quests for certain faeries or people (here's a good one http://www.neopets.com/winter/snowfaerie.phtml)
you can also buy a shop to sell neopets things. this is a good way too make neopoints.
TIPS ON MAKING NEOPOINTS
1: create a shop and check the shop wizard to find the lowest price, then beat the lowest price by 1 neopoint
2:don't waste neopoints on items your pet doesnt need,here is a list of things NOT to buy:
-clothes (your pet can't wear them)
-make up, or grooming items (they don't really do much)
-really expensive neggs (you can just go and trade bad neggs for expensive neggs in the neggery) http://www.neopets.com/winter/neggery.phtml
-don't buy medicine from the shop wizard, it is a whole bunch cheaper in the pharmacy!
Here is another tip if you still dont know it yet
DON'T WATE TIME AT THE MONEY TREE!!
as soon as you try to pick something up, it is gone, there is no way to get stuff from the tree without cheating, and I don't like cheating the money tree because half the time it never works!
BRAIN TREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
For the brain tree, each neopet user is given a different set of answers, the only way to find these answers is to go to the esophagor, so even if I gave you my answers, you couldnt use them!

but be careful because quite a few times, the snowager wakes up and fires ice at you and your pets hp goes down. this only really happens if you try to get more than one item per week.
