ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Bonnie L. Vorenberg (B.A., M.S. Theatre)
has worked in the field of senior theatre
since 1978 creating productions with
and for seniors, from frail to very active.
She founded and directed Arts for Elders,
an arts academy for seniors,
and later, a professional company,
the Oregon Senior Theatre,
which toured extensively
and was the proud recipient
of several grants
from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Bonnie is the author of Senior Theatre Connections:
The First Directory of
Senior Theatre Performing Groups,
Professionals, and Resources
which has recently been released.
In addition, she edited the first anthology
of new scripts for older performers,
New Plays for Mature Actors,
a handbook entitled
Enriching an Older Persons Life
Through Senior Adult Theatre,
and numerous articles.
In the field of activities,
Bonnie trained activity directors
in ten states as the
National Enrichment Director
for Hillhaven Corporation and wrote the manual,
Simple and Useful Activities in Adult Care Homes.
Bonnie has recently been selected
to serve as the Chair for the
Senior Theatre Focus Group of the Association
for Theatre in Higher Education.
She has brought her expertise and enthusiasm
about senior theatre to many
local, state, and national audiences
including the National Council
on Aging, the Association for Theatre
in Higher Education and many others.
