The Wisconsin Report addresses
areas that would indicate
finacial abuse of the elderly.
The issue of "excessive affection
by new acquaintances" is very difficult to prove.
It happens far more often than anyone realizes by
newly found younger sweethearts to paid caregivers
who simply take over the family role, and methodologically
remove the family and set themselves up as the elderly's
main system of support.
Any caregiver who attempts to remove family
from the elder's life should be suspect.
