| Thank You To The Production Staff |
 |
| You deserve a trophy. |
The state of the art pageant we had last Saturday still
lingers in the imagination of many and is still much the talk
of the club. No less than our own kinsfolk still mesmerized
by the event tries to relive the elegance still scintillating
in their minds. Even in the years to come, I'm sure that
what we have done will still evoke fond memories which
in their indelibility, time won't ever be able to erase.
I can not thank everybody as I would for making the
event a big success. The hours that you have put in
towards the realization of this project speaks of the
dedication you have to the Aguman, our club. Each
and everyone of us had a part in the accomplishment
of such a monumental project that now is very much
associated with our club itself. It has truly become
our signature event and no other club would now ever
be able to take it away from us.
Monette put it together so nicely despite her voluminous
schedule on church-related matters which she also
dutifully attends to. Her unselfish devotion to her work
in fashioning such a pageant deserves our commendation.
Mina, with her revitalized energy, was able to put together
a state of the art souvenir program maybe unparalleled by
any that we have seen. Her husband, Akbar, in a display of
love and kindness helped her create a color-full journal
unprecedented in the annals of Fil-Am publication. Together,
these two chairmen, along with the members of their
respective committees who also moved heaven and earth
to help bring about the great santacruzan /coronation
production, should be given a "21-cheer salute"! They
demonstrated a lot of teamwork, an ingredient necessary
for the success of any kind of venture undertaken by any
group.
This is not to downplay the roles of the rest of the crew
who have also contributed a lot in other aspects. The
construction of the stage, the arduous work on the floor
setting up of tables and chairs and then putting them
away afterwards; the food preparation and kitchen
management, the clean-up work, the ticket sales,
the reception work,. the publicities (and websites),
the work involved in searching for a venue for the event,
the security work, the work on the lights and sound
system, work of the emcees, and of course, the
participants themselves. We have many to thank,
and a lot to thank for. Words can but poorly express the
appreciation the club has for all you wonderful people,
its gratitude knows no bounds. Indebted to a lot of
people as it is, the Aguman is really nothing without
the support and cooperation of its die-hard members.
We still have two other important events before I ride
into the western sunset as president. We'll have a
presidential election on June 9 (moved from June 2).
Then on June 30 we'll have a grand picnic at Cascade
Locks where an induction of officers will take place,
and where awards and certificates of merits will be
bequeathed to deserving members. If there is time, ID
cards to all paid members will also be presented.
Till then, this is your soon-to-be outgoing president
extending his best regards. Have a nice day one and all!

P.S.
Sgts.-at-arms Eddie (Bonifacio) and Danny (Ramirez) did all the
work dismantling the stage during the morning after. When Angie
and I brought some food for them at around 11:30 AM, they were
almost done with it. Nelson (Balboa) arrived at one and helped in
taking all the trash out, and he also loaded all the borrowed chairs on
his truck. At two, Conrad and his kids (Mark M. and Ronnie Dabu)
arrived and they all helped us move and store all the stage parts in
a little corner. Then we all moved all the pieces of furniture and other stuff
back into where the stage used to be. Angie and Candy did more
mopping and vacuuming afterwards. The place was left in good order,
spic and span. |
