Nelson, Deputy Director / HazMat Specialist William Wright, Deputy Director / Planning Director The Saginaw County, Michigan Office of Emergency Management is the agency of county government having primary responsibility and authority for the planning and execution of disaster and emergency mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery for Saginaw County; for the coordination of disaster and emergency response by and between county agencies and political subdivisions; for coordination and liaison with related agencies of the state and federal government; for coordination of recovery operations subsequent to disaster and emergencies; and for coordination of hazard mitigation planning activities. The Office of Emergency Management Services is further responsible for the preparation and maintenance of a comprehensive plan for the disaster and emergency response for Saginaw County. The plan is integrated and coordinated with the disaster and emergency response plans of the state and federal governments. The Saginaw County Office of Emergency Management is authorized by Public Act 390, P.A. 1976 of the State of Michigan. This office serves directly under the Saginaw County Board of Commissioners and reports directly to the Chairperson of the Board during an emergency. |
