| James Yoshinobu"Jonas" Iha -born in Chicago, Illinois on March 26, 1968. Has been in bands called the Feds and Snake Train. Met Billy Corgan in 1988. The two wrote goth-pop songs and played with a drum machine at bars in Chicago. James is considered the quiet one of the band. Although he hasn't always been involved in song writing he does write occaisional songs for the Smashing Pumpkins like the three that Billy and James did like Mayonaise, Soma, and I Am One. James released some songs as b-sides Made a solo album in February 1998 named "Let It Come Down". A very sarcastic person.His hair has been somewhat long black with blonde streaks. Modeled for Anna Sui in 1996. Now is a co-owner with D'arcy Wretzky-Brown of Scratchie Records that began in 1996 and signed bands like Fulflej, Fountains of Wayne, and the Frogs. Has a younger Brother who is disabled, like Billy's step brother.
