D'arcy Elizabeth Wretzky (recently Wretzky-Brown) born on May 1, 1968 in Michigan, USA. She has two sisters who are on the cover of Siamese Dream. D'arcy has learned to play the oboe, violin, and electric bass which she is known for. She met Billy outside of a club called the Avalon in 1988, and joined the Smashing Pumpkins a few days later. She later went to Germany. D'arcy had little expierence on the bass when she started but Billy liked her personality and her attitude. D'arcy sometimes sings background vocals. And sang lead vocals for "Daydream", and with Jimmy Chamberlin on "Farewell & Goodnight".
D'arcy co-owns Scratchie Records with James Iha. She likes listening to Air, Luscious Jackson, Beastie Boys, Nirvana, the Beatles, Red Red Meat, Chainsaw Kittens, and Catherine. She was married to Kerry Brown, drummer of Catherine who sometimes played for the Smashing Pumpkins when Jimmy Chamberlin was gone.
On September 9, 1999 D'Arcy left the Smashing Pumpkins, but she did play for the Pumpkins last record, Machina: the Machines of God. But Melissa Auf der Maur played for the tour. No public statement was made for the reason of her leaving.
