My name is Ryan Michael Tourgee. I was born June 5, 1978 and live in Johnston, Rhode Island. Ok still with me?
I first started getting into wrestling in 1984 when I was about six years old. I started out liking boxing but my uncle
got me into watching wrestling so he is the one to blame for "creating the monster." Anyway, at the time I used
to watch WWF, NWA, ICW and several other leagues, usually on Saturday mornings. My favorites back then
used to be Superfly Jimmy Snuka, Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat and Paul Ondorff. Sure was a fan of "Hulkamania"
when I was little but please forgive me I didn't know any better lol. 1986-1987 was a great time to be a wrestling fan
and that's when I REALLY got into it. The Hart Foundation and The British Bulldogs became my absolute favorites.
Even as a kid I knew that their matches were something special. I also loved Randy Savage when he was
Intercontinental Champion. I grew up in an era of WWF LJN Figures, and Bill Apter's Pro Wrestling Illustrated
family of magazines. I collected everything I could get my hands.

A lot of kids my age went to rock concerts. Not me, i'de beg my parents to take me to any wrestling show
around. Mostly I would go to the Providence Civic Center, Warwick Musical Theatre or Rocky Hill Fair where
Killer Kowalski had his IWF show every summer. Some of my favorite memories of matches I attended were
* WWF Tag Champs The Hart Foundation vs Tito Santana & Junkyard Dog.
* Bret Hart winning the 1991 King of The Ring Tournament (The last one before it went to PPV)
* Jake The Snake vs Andre The Giant
* WWF Champ Randy Savage vs Bad News Brown on New Years Eve 1988.
* A very early appearance in WWF of the Ultimate Warrior. He was still called the Dingo Warrior
and defeated Iron Mike Sharpe.

Everyone in school knew that when it came to wrestling I was the one to talk to. My friends and I would
talk for hours about wrestling even when we were supposed to be doing schoolwork. Hey wrestling comes
first right ;) The highlight of my wrestling memories was going to Wrestlemania 11 in Hartford, CT with my best
friend Andy. We stayed for three days and went to Fan Fest three different times. We met everyone who was
big in the WWF around the time.

When I was about 15 in 1993, the New England Wrestling Alliance (NEWA) came to my Exeter-West
Greenwich High School. It was the first time I had watched them on public acsess and met a few of the guys
after the show. This began to but the idea into my mind that I could actually train to wrestle. About 2 years later,
Andy and I were at a show to meet WCW's Sting and we ran into the NEWA again. They invited us to a tryout
and after that we began training. Now I was 17, 5'10 235 lbs. Andy was the same age but he was 6'6 250 lbs.
So I was about average maybe a little bigger than some of the guys there but Andy was a giant by local
standards. We stuck to our guns and became a tag team as we had originaly planned. As with a lot of
independant rookies we were saddled with a ridiculous gimmick. Ok, I shouldn't say ridiculous because it sure
wasn't in 1985 but this was 1996. What original exiting gimmick did we get? We were the "Russians". I was Vladimir
and Andy was Boris. It wasn't all bad though we had a lot of fun. We were on some televised matches and a few
battle royals. The highlight of our short lived wrestling carreer was being on the same show as Jim "The Anvil"
Neidhart who was one of my favorites when I was a kid. I got to talk with him in the locker room and he really was
a cool guy. We left wrestling because in Rhode Island most of the leagues were volunteer and since we were
traveling a long way we decided that it was getting to be to much. We had other things to do then like finish
High School and chase girls lol. I do miss signing autographs with the little kids and having my picture taken though.
I don't think the autographs will be a hot item on ebay anytime soon! To anyone who wants to be a wrestler, just
remember, training is never easy. I've done boxing, football and amateur wrestling but the pro training is the toughest.
But it is also the most rewarding.

These days i'm happy just working out with my friends at Gold's Gym. I've been invited back to a few
leagues but for now i'm happy just working out and bodybulding. I still order every PPV and I have an entire room in
my house with all of my wrestling stuff. I have about 5,000 magazines and hundreds of figures and autographs and
videos. I'm 27 now but I know I will never stop collecting. I'm sure as most of you know, once wrestling gets in
you're blood you never outgrow it. Sure the wrestlting boom has cooled off since it's late 90's popularity but the diehard fans stick it through no matter what. That's why I have this website. I'm not an internet geek and my site won't be winning any awards.
It's just my place to discuss things. Email me anytime if you want to discuss anything wrestling. I'm not some
stuck up internet mark so don't be afraid. Here are some lists of random wrestling stuff:
