Face on Mars

In the mid 1980's, scientists, reviewing remotely sensed imagery of the Martian surface, came upon a geologic feature that looked very much like a human face.

These 'structures' were discovered on several frames of film, and show the 'face' in an area of Mars known as Cydonia. Several people claim that NASA has other film footage which shows the face in much more detail but they are refusing to make public this film.

Several people including Richard Hoagland, have stated that other structures are also visible such as cities and pyramids. He claims that the face could not have been formed by nature alone, and uses this as a claim of an ancient civilisation.

Other sceptics claim that the face is just an unfortunate coincidence. However when the image was digitally enhanced by the work of Dr Mark Carlotto the 'face' does look very convincing.

All should be revealed in the next couple of years as NASA is planning another mission to Mars and this will hopefully answer the question once and for all.

The US Congress in 1966 acted to increase public access to government records. It provided that any records, documents, memoranda, statements of policy, and other similar materials be made available to those persons who requested it.

Certain documents were exempted from disclosure and this included this such as National Security, Trade Secrets, ongoing investigations, maps of minerals & wells etc.

Since the FOIA act many UFO researchers have managed to obtain many remarkable documents from various government agencies which indicated that UFO are the subject of much investigation and secrecy.

However, there are still many UFO documents which have not been released, despite various court cases by groups such as CAUS.

Foo Fighters

Shiny metallic-looking spheres seen floating in the skies in World War II from about 1943 onwards. Both sides believed that they were new rockets being developed by the other side.

After the war, neither side claimed to know anything about them.

FUFOR

A non-profit, tax-exempt organisation based in Washington, D.. whose mission is to provide grants for scientific research and public education projects dealing with the UFO phenomenon. Since 1979 has raised more than $150,000.00 from more than 2000 contributors. Also sponsors and awards the annual Donald E. Keyhoe Journalism Award." The Fund sponsors such projects the release of U.S. Government documents concerning UFOs under the Freedom of Information Act,computer-aided analysis of UFO photographs, research into major UFO sightings around the world, research into "Operation Majestic 12", psychological testing of people who reported being abducted by apparent aliens, international symposiums and conducts interviews and lectures. The Fund takes the position that many reported UFOs cannot be identified as conventional aerial vehicles or phenomena. Thus, UFO reports are potentially of enormous significance and merit serious scientific research.
