In honor of all our "best friends"
who need our help into doggy and
kitty heaven.

If it should be that I grow weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep
Then you must do what must be done
For this last war cannot be won.

You will be sad, I understand
Don't let your grief then stay your hand
"For this day more than all the rest
Your love for me must stand the test.

We've had so many happy years
What is to come can hold no fears
You'ed not want me to suffer so
The time has come, please let me go.

Take me where my needs they'll tend
And please stay with me until the end
Hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time that you will see
The kindness that you did for me
Although my tail it's last has waved
From pain and suffering, I've been saved.

Please do not grieve it must be you
Who had this painful thing to do
We've been so close, we two, these years
Don't let your heart hold back it's tears

LOVE OF LIFE - a prayer for animals

Lord, May we love all Your creation, all the earth and every grain of sand in it. May we love every leaf, every ray of Your light. May we love the animals. You have given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Let us not trouble it; let us not harass them, let us not deprive them of their happiness, let us not work against your intent. For we acknowledge unto You that all is like an ocean, all is flowing and blending, and that to withhold any measure of love from anything in Your universe is to withhold that same measure from You.

MY BEST FRIENDS

I’m getting older, you see, and live alone,
No husband now and my kids are grown,
Some people think me feeble just because
I talk to fur kids with four little paws.

I forget things but they don’t think me dense
And don’t notice when my mind jumps the fence.
Their loyalty, I know, comes from above,
A wonderful way God showers His love.

My fur kids don’t mind if my steps are too slow,
They’re just happy that they get to go.
I've taken care of them; they’re here with me now
Taking care of me, the best they know how.

My days are long and my years are too short,
With friends long gone, life’s not a resort,
But my kids with four paws fill my long days,
With love and kisses, their own special ways.

Nothing compares to the love of a pet,
No better friends have I ever yet met
Than my Rambo, MoJo, and Amber too,
They are just what I needed; only God knew.

Thank You Lord for taking care of my needs,
For You, I promise to sow gospel seeds.
Showering love like my little dogs do,
The best I know how, like they taught me to do.
