| These are rumors from various sites and various sources. |
11/27
Not to many new rumors this week, SFKK is closed for the season. I drove by it and did not see any track or supports laying around. That rumor was probly wrong.
The Medusa clone at SFMW is for the first half like Kraken and the rest is like a new coaster. It is not really much of a clone. It fetures a new element called the sea sepent roll. It is basicly a back to back illimun.
11/19
SFMW has finally confermed that it's new coaster will be a Medusa clone. Although the space has been confermed as to where the coaster will be placed, there are two thoughts brought up by the placement. 1:/ The space is not big enough, either the coaster will be minimized, or more space will be cleared. 2:/ The track is the wrong color!? Wil it be called Medusa or will it be called somthing new!? But, if more space is going to be cleared, it will show up soon, constuction is already begining!
On another note, there were supposedly 5, yes count um' 5, floorless coasters!
Now lets count, 1, Medusa 2, Kraken 3,Superman Krypton 4, Mudusa clone, and 5?! Whats the fifth? What about the supposed Wolvarene coaster at IOA? They said 7 inversion stand-up?
Mabey its a floorless!? ;)
I'll keep you posted!
As for the SFKK rumors, Which never seem to stop,
The say and new inverted coaster will come and that it will be called the Joker!
And that Chang will be painted black! But Chang was just Painted?!
11/3
of T2, he claims he noticed purple supports! Could this mean Poison Ivy?
It is almost positively comfermed that we are getting Poison Ivy, but wern't
they supposed to build Batman first? It was said that we were not getting
Ivy untill 2001 and we were getting Batman 2000.
Also, a rumor was going around that constrction on a 7 inversion Batman
was going to start soon at SFKK and that it would eather be called Batman
Beyond or Batman Y2K!?
I'll keep you posted if any grey(or red) supports apper!;)

I recently went to I.O.A and when I was going up the lift hill on Dueling Dragons I seen something very interesting: ten sections of what look like B&M TRACK, it was gray. I have been hearing something about project WOLVERINE.
Also I work in the construction industry as an equipment operator and the contractor I work for has got the landclearing contract for the next universal project.

Another of our overseas correspondents was kind enough to send along the specs for Mirabilandia's upcoming B&M-crafted inverted coaster:
For 2000, Mirabilandia in Ravenna / Italy will present "KATUN" the biggest european inverted coaster! And I also have the information from Robert Loeffelhardt (owner from Phantasialand in Germany) and son from Mr. Loeffelhardt (owner from Mirabilandia) that it will be a B&M coaster with 7 inversions.
"The 2000 season in Mirabilandia opens with a new Mayan - themed breathtaking ride: Katun, an amazing Inverted Coaster combining the thrill of challenging the force of gravity with the mysterious atmosphere of the pre-Columbian civilisation.
"This freeform steel coaster takes you first into a loop, then in several spinnings and in a double loop with a spinning. And when you think it's all over, another extraordinary emotion: you dive into a trench where you feel like sinking into the ground!
"Layout: Steel Freeform
"Features: Inverted, Multielement
"Designed by: Bolliger & Mabillard Consulting Engineers Inc.
"Year scheduled to open: 2000
"Height: 50 metres
"Maximum Drop: to be defined
'Track Length: 1.200 metres
"Top Speed: to be defined
"Ride Time: 170 seconds
"Number of loops: 3
"Number of spinnings: 3
"Number of Trains: 3
"Cars per Train: 8
"Seating arrangement: rows of 4 seats each
"Restraints: Shoulder Harness
"Capacity: 1728 people per hour
"Riders must be taller than 53 inches (135 cm) to ride"
If I'm doing the math right, that's 164 feet tall and a little over 3,900 feet long... not bad at all.

I visited SFKK this weekend.(Brutal Planet Sucked).I asked all the ride operators
if they new about any new coasters. All said they herd some thing but no-one would
comment. But when I asked the T2 ride operator he said T2 was staying and we were
not getting a batman-the ride?!

Yes, last week's Whopper (a wild catalogue of supposed Bolliger & Mabillard coaster projects) drew some replies...
I was reading the rumors for 10/7 and I wouldn't have said anything if it didn't happen so much. The Whopper of the Week really just set me off.....
I hate to break the news to everyone, but do you ever wonder why hypercoasters don't have any inversions? I was reading the whopper of the week and it said an Oblivion style coaster 400 ft. tall with many inversions-WAIT A MINUTE-unless they have some breaks right after the first hill to slow you down to about 50 mph, you aren't gonna have any inversions. There are a few that do, but if I am not mistaken you slow down a considerable bit before you get to the inversions. This would NOT apply to a 400ft. tall coaster cause you are going too fast. When you go fast down a hill, what do you feel at the bottom of the hill? G-force. When you go faster, the G-force is greater. If you were on a 400 ft. tall coaster, you would go atleast 120 mph which would lead to an enormous amount of G-force way past the amount a human could handle. Anything above 7 G's and a normal person would black out. A greater G-force, such as 11 or 12 G's would literally crush a human like an empty coke can. We are already pushing G's to the limit with coasters doing 5.45 G's. This is why I disagree with hyper coasters doing inversions except for a few like the Kennywood Steel Phantom.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Just to help confirm that last week's Whopper was totally false: I once requested info from B&M about future rides in development and was told that they can not reveal any information until projects are formally announced. So don't get your hopes up.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Despite the above, can we still hope that a new B&M coaster is in the works?
That B&M prototype is supposedly unknown but a little bird tells me it will have the track to the side... making it a true floorless.

Drachen Fire is not yet bought but there's a rumor that it may be comming to SFKK. They say it will probley be painted green and red so it can be called viper. Another rumor serculating is that T2 will be kept and painted Green and orange and named scarecrow.

Southend's S.W.I.N.E. may still be a ways off, but another big steel UK coaster is in the works, so we're told:
...according to the Daily Telegraph, a newspaper in London, England. A heading that says a British park [has been] given permission to build "biggest roller coaster in the world". It will be called Odyssey2001 and it will be the star attraction at the Magical World of Fantasy Island in ingoldmells, England. When completed in 2001, the ride will be the world's tallest and longest looping roller coaster, with 4500 ft. of track and loops exceeding 197 ft. The cost 28 million pounds.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
More excellent euro-coaster news:
Well I hate to say this, unless B&M is building 4 new coasters in the US and more elswhere, but again as I wrote last week from my lap top, I am in Italy; just visited Gardaland, then went to the bigger park Mirabilandia, and like I said with 2 B&M coasters in the US (Kraken and SFFT's floorless) then we can check off number three. The park confirms it, the new B&M inverted is called "Katun" has 6 inversions and is the largest inverted in Europe.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Yes, Six Flags Fiesta Texas' floorless coaster is well on its way, but the rumor of an SFFT hypercoaster continues to percolate as well:
Well it is confirmed about the floorless, and people are saying there are two colors of supports there, could this be a Giavanola Hyper too? at Fiesta Tx?
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Last week, we were informed that Six Flags Great America's Iron Wolf stand-up coaster might move to Six Flags Over Texas. A "current employee" writes to clear up a number of recent SFGAm rumors:
...Iron Wolf is staying right where it is. The park cannot afford another coaster, considering that park attendance was awful this year. The waterpark was going in by the greenhouses (next to Shockwave), so they were tearing everything down after the surveying and marking was done. This is still in the park NOT ACROSS THE TRI-STATE. It finally came down to the wire, and Premier failed to come through with the money. So, there is no waterpark, and the grounds workers have to move back into the greenhouses. Yes, we are getting rid of Sky Whirl. The main bearing is cracked, so once it goes, the park will get rid of it. In it's place will be a new flat ride from Chance Rides. And, Shockwave is on the list of attractions the park wants to get rid of. All of this is straight from the horse's mouth...
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The gossip down in Texas seems to further indicate that the Wolf ain't about to roam:
The only problem is that a coaster of Iron Wolf's size simply wouldn't fit anywhere at SFoT. I talked to a very open guard at the park 2 weeks ago, and I asked her what she knew about what's in store for next year and about our upcoming hypercoaster. She said she's afraid that the coaster won't come for another year or so because they have to completely redo the front entrance around the lake where the cars come in. I'm thinking they'll move the entrance to the other side of the lake where the pre-parking exit is now so that they can rip out the current entrance and put the coaster station and such down there. She also said they've been talking about ripping out Air Racer (finally) and putting a new ride there, perhaps a turbo drop or space shot combo like the SCREAM @ SFFT or Supreme Scream @ Knott's. Also, they plan on adding a few flat rides to update the older ones, hopefully ones such as the Sombrero and....well....that's pretty much one of the only flat rides we have! A bunch of flat rides would really do SFoT some good. Also, the family coaster from Zierer sounds likely, it's just a matter of where.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Gettin' back to SFGAm's future, the crystal ball seems to be awfully cloudy:
There have been a lot of weird rumors going around about SFGA so I asked a friend of mine who works there what was going on. Well he said that even the park managers do not know for sure what is going on because Premier is not making any promises to any of their parks. The story starts at the time when all the Mr. Freeze failures were happening. The park went to B&M and signed a three-coaster contract. The order form was a hyper coaster, a launched coaster and eventually a large stand-up coaster. The hypercoaster came first and everything went smoothly. The plans for this year were to create the water park and next year would be the second B&M or even possibly the year after that. Now the water park has been delayed and Premier is supposedly offering a Joker's Jinx coaster for the area where the Clipper is now. The large stand up coaster would come the year after the water park opened. Still the park is fighting for a custom launched coaster and Premier is not very helpful considering the less than huge turn out for Raging Bull...
What is all this about lower-than-expected attendance? After the installation of a B&M hypercoaster? What's the world coming to?!;)
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
According to these two guest observations, the "new" Six Flags America is still very much a work-in-progress:
On Friday, I visited Six Flags America for a couple of hours. The Alpine Bobs and the Polyp were assembled, but not operating. Superman is still in pieces in the back of the park. The Alpine Bobs are incredibly out of place in Gotham City... why bother spending so much money on extensive theming on the Joker's Jinx only to cram the Alpine Bobs next door?
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I just got back from SFA's Fright Fest (formerly known as HallowScream) and had a pretty darn good time! It was "Chrysler Family Night" so the parking lot was half-closed for test drives of new Chryslers. That's creepy enough in itself! Everything is as campy as usual and very family-oriented -- except for one thing: Alice Cooper's Brutal Planet. It takes a lot to scare me (after all I am a thrillseeker) but I can honestly say that I haven't jumped that many times in a haunted house since my childhood. This pay-per-experience event was definitely worth the five bucks I plunked down - especially since the park poured $250,000 on this one high-tech haunted house. It's located next to Two Face: The Flip Side. On to some more goodies:
-- That mystery ride in front of Shipwreck Falls? It's almost done and it's not gonna be much - just a generic octopus-type ride. Very disappointing! Oh well, at least it's going in a place that could definitely use it. The ride most likely will not open this year -- but 2000 is a sure thing.
