First if you don't know how to say or spell it right this is it. Pokemon po/ke/mon this is what it sounds like

Now lets talk about how it's so populur and what's it about. These pokemon are made from Japan and they are called pokemon and that means pocket monsters. Now here's about the USA. They first gave out a tape in the mail from Toys"R"Us. It told about these pokemon so if you got it watch it. Then thay made games, Tshirts, comics, TV shows, and more. There these animals that are bigger, wierder and that have powers. Each one has one or two type of powers. There's normal, fire, water, grass, poisen, bug, ground, thunder, ghost, phycic, dragon, and maybee more that I forgot.There were 150 of these pokemon untill Mew(a pokemon)came out and he was realy powerful. There making new games with over 250 pokemon.The most populur pokemon is pikachu. He's really cute and is a thunder pokemon.He also is the pokemon that Ash started out with.Thats a person in the show.

Why is Pokemon such a Big Deal?
Now heres what you do on the game. Also what the characters do in the show. The TV show is on Kids WB. You go to this profeser that gives you a pokemon.Then you go on a mission to catch all of these pokemon.You have to have your pokemon that you started with and hurt a pokemon in the wild. After it gets hurt really bad you use a ball called a pokeball. You throw it at the pokemon and you catch it for your collection. You have to catch all 151 pokemon and leave your house and go to other cities. You start your mission when your 10 years old.

Reason Why to catch Pokemon
Now you don't just catch pokemon for a collection. You catch them to fight other trainers too and you only can hold 6 at a time. The rest go to the place where your pokedex was made.

What's a Pokedex?
The Pokedex has all 150 pokemon info on it and when the creator of it has discovered more pokemon the person with the pokedex updates it and adds more facts on it. The pokedex is a shape almost like a gameboy, has a screen for the picture of the pokemon, and a transporter to switch your pokemon.
