OOC: This is what happens when Raynor goes into the city. You may inculde other events other than the city if you wish. Please note, the other RP entitled "Revenge of the forerunners" may go on, this is simply the other part.
Raynor had finished the long walk through the cave. The light was bright at first, but he adjusted. A sign said, "Cald Rocks, 10 miles."
He sighed, that would take awhile. The road seemed to be pockmarked with holes. And a small layer of dust covered the road. No wonder noone drived to the city, it would be much more of a hazard than fighting. He silently walked down the road, every now and then he would see the tops of some skyscrapers, and he used those to judge how far he had gone. It turned out that the tunnel led to a crater, with a large metal wall running around the edge. It looked to be the safe haven. Large rocks cut off the road from the desert giving him the straight path he wanted. Every now and then he would hear some gun fire, or see a pelican fly overhead. After about seven miles, he saw some people walking along the side of the road, all were armed.
Raynor took some cover behind an old car. He peered over the side and watched them dissapear into a cave. He continued down and finally got a good view of the city. It was larger than he expected. There were small houses around what seemed to be the outskirts of the city. In the middle there were seven skyscrapers. A road led down into the city where he saw some warthogs, and even a Scorpion on guard. He was about to head into a city when he heard some voices from behind.
"He looks new, maybe he has some money."
"Or we could always use his gun."
"Maybe we should just let him be."
And the next voice wasnt talking in english.
Raynor turned around, five men stood, all with a mix of Battle Rifles and Shotguns. They raised them toward Raynor, he raised his pistol.
"Well, this was unexpected." Raynor took a stock of his luck and thought against it. He lowered his pistol.
"Heh," one of them laughed, "do you think we arent going to kill you?"
"No, I guess not," Raynor leaped backwards into a ditch and fired and hit two of them. The other three opened fire on him, when he ducked. The rounds zipped overhead. He heard them run out and reload when he opened fire killing one of them. He ducked again as they finished reloading. This time they didnt open fire again, but he head one of them get closer. He saw him look over the edge. Right as he was about to kill Raynor a shot rang out. The bandit fell over, with a smoking hole in his back. Raynor looked out as the other three bandits were gunned down. He looked back toward the city where a warthog with a sniper in the passenger seat waved.
Raynor took a sigh of relief. He realized he had just gotten his weclome into the city.

KarMegus and his men wandered around for hours. "We're going the wrong way!" buzzed one of the Drones. KarMegus sighed. The sun had been up for a long time now, and they had still not found the Ark. But he had seen something interesting. What looked like an abandoned city was out on the horizon. KarMegus began to head that way. The Drone made its species' equivelant if a sigh and followed without protest. As they got closer KarMegus realized that there was a large wall around the city. This will prove difficult, thought KarMegus.

Raynor had found an apartment, and got some supplies. Even found a job. Two days past without incident. When there was a wall breach. Everyone was warned to find hiding places, but Raynor and sevral other people went out to help. Raynor gave several other men lifts to the breach. There were flood trying to get past the ships. Luckily, the flood had minimal weapons. Raynor and the other men started shooting into the mass. The battle lasted about three minutes, before the wall was patched up, and everything was quiet again. Although, Raynor thought he saw something else take the advantage of the distraction.

The wall seemed inpenetrable. KarMegus was desperately trying to figure out a way in. He needed supplies, and he knew they'd be in that city.He ordered the Drones to fly over the wall and see if there was some way to open it from the inside. They continued to wander around the city, until KarMegus spotted a battle off in the distance. The wall was broken, and KarMegus knew they'd be able to slip into the city. The Drones returned and said there was no way to get in the city. KarMegus pointed towards the battle. The Drones nodded, and KarMegus and his men sprinted towards the battle. The Humans were too distracted by the Flood to notice them. Finally, KarMegus had made it in. Now he had to gather food, water, and new guns and ammo.

Raynor had been assigned, along with the men who had helped, to the police squad in the city. He got a Squad Warthog, and used it to patrol through the desert with another cop. They were supposed to findout where the bandits were hiding, and they were supposed to find out where and flood may have escaped to. They found a small hole. It was clearly a bandit hideout. Weapons were stacked along the inside and a map of the city was also seen, with plans to bomb the city capital.
There was an ambush staged and the security on the Capital building was strengthened. Sure enough, the bandits came back, and they were ambushed.
Raynor held up his rifle. "Freeze!"
The bandits froze. But the marines opened fire. It was almost sickening to Raynor, they were all kneeling down, hoping to avoid death, only to be mowed down.
"They surrendered! We could have captured them, pumped them for information!" Raynor yelled at the marines.
"We were given orders, would you insurect mutiny?" The seargant of the marines replied. "Or should we take you in for even thinking we should give them a second chance!"
Raynor quieted down. Something was not right, they wanted the city a little too clean. Raynor got back into the warthog and drove back to the city.

They had taken shelter in a large building. KarMegus told a Jackal to get its beam rifle and snipe anyone who he saw. There was no one out in the open, so the Jackal was given a little time to relax. KarMegus had found food, but no guns or even ammo. The hallways were all white, and there were alot of rooms. KarMegus didn't want to look in any of the rooms, for he feared that there were things in there he didnt want to see. KarMegus was tired of the war, and couldn't wait to end things.

Name: Irk
Species: Spartan/Human
Rank: Seargeant
Pref Weapon: Sniper Rifle, Battle Rifle
Bio: One of the few spartans ONI kept for themselves. Helps defend the city against threats. His life is mainly non-existant.
Irk adjusted the sniper rifle to get a better view of the situation. Zooming in he saw the bandits meeting in a group. The voice amplifier picked up the conversation.
"You heard about the Frekas? They were found out, all mowed down. I dont want that to happen to us, you hear?"
The rest replied, "Yes sir."
The leader gave another order. "I want there to be no traces of the entrance to the base. Cover anything up that would lead them here, Also, keep an eye over your back at all times. We dont want them following us."
They agreed again. "Yep."
He spoke one more time, "Lets get to covering the base up."
Irk crawled out of sight then started walking back to base. He decided wether or not to report them or not. The bandits he had seen werent really bad, they just left theier mark all over the city. Harmless in reality. He keyed in the radio.
"Nothing out here, looks like they abandoned theier post."
The CO responded, "Looks as we cant find any anywhere, maybe we got all of them."
Irk chuckled before keying the raido again. "Sure. Noone else." Irk then stopped dead in his tracks. A small covenant squad had found its way into the city.

The Jackal fired a round from its Beam Rifle. KarMegus looked and saw a Human drop dead in the road. KarMegus went back to what he was doing. They had gotten enough food and water to last them for a few days. They left the building and had only taken a few steps when KarMegus saw The Monitor off in the distance. "Monitor!" KarMegus called. It floated toward them. "Oh, hello. I was looking for a Reclaimer, but you will suffice until we find one." KarMegus grunted, and his troup looked for a way out of the city.

Irk saw the man drop. These were aggressive. And he would stop them. He radioed in the position. "We got Covenant troops holed up in the old tenemants south of the warehouse. They are picking off the homeless guys down here. I dont know how many there are so I request backup."
"Roger that, we'll send a police squad down in a dropship. Thats all we want to spare." The CO replied. "Keep an eye on that structure, noone leaves or enters. Understood?"
"Yes sir, I'll hang here and wait for the dropship, how soon should I expect it?"
"Several minutes, to a half hour, depends on how long we can group these police up, keep in mind, they are partolling right now."
"Roger that commander."

Raynor picked up the request, "All police in the area around the southern district report to the fort, there has been a covenant presence detected in the city that we want taken out."
Raynor replied, "Im on my way." He made a U-Turn and sped down the street towards the Fort. When he got there he noticed two military issue warthogs already parked. He walked in and was briefed.
"Alright, time to prove your worth to the city, you will be teamed up with a sniper to attack a building, he will be hidden but he will direct you. Raynor, you will direct yellow team, Keckiv, you will direct green team. Follow all orders given by the sniper. We dont want these covenant to think humans are dull witted. You will be dropped onto the roof by dropship and then all orders will be given, and followed." The seargant finished.

Irk picked off another grunt jackal trying to venture out of the building. It was the prophets' army for sure, he hadnt seen a single hunter or elite at the structure all day. Irk had taken out the jackal sniper and the covenant squad became suspicous of his location. Through the thermal imaging he could see more inside, along with a brute. He might have to draw him outside. There was no way the police units could take him out.
Brutes were ruthless monsters for all he was concerned. They deserved nothing less than death. One had killed his squadmate, and he longed for revenge until every brute was dead.
The dropship landed on the roof and he directed his men into the structure.

KarMegus cursed loudly. "Bastards are attacking us! Do they not know what is going to happen if we don't activate the Ark!?" He raised his Carbine, looked through the scope, and shot at where he thought the Humans were. It was impossible to tell without a beam rifle, and he couldn't use those very well. There was one Jackal left, and KarMegus ordered it to find the Human's location, and attack on sight. The Jackal refused, and ran off. KarMegus shot it as it fled. "Oh dear!" chimed 241.There was only him, the Monitor, and 7 Drones left, and the Drones did not like those odds. All but one flew off, and KarMegus and the remaining Drone shot them all. KarMegus looked at the Drone, and recognized him immediatly. It was Shalboa, one of the Drones who had helped repair KarMegus' ship years ago. "Let us go, commander. I grow weary of looking at the traitors' corpses. Even worse then the Heretics, for we are almost to the location of where the Great Journey will begin." Shalboa remarked. He spit on his fellow Drone's corpse. KarMegus looked at Shalboa, and nodded. They soon found a weak point in the city wall. KarMegus punched it several times, and thanks to his massive strength, created a hole large enough for them to exit the city.

Irk chased the Brute and his comrade out of the city into the desert. The runner had even created another hole in the wall. Irk had noted it on his radio, and was now in a quick pursuit of the Brute. Keeping a weary eye on him, Irk noticed hunger setting in. The brute had stopped somewhere to rest. Irk kept an eye on him from a concealed position and he called in for dropship support. They were going to get this gorilla.

Raynor didnt expect himself to lose control of his body. Walking out of the building and entering a car, he drove it around the city. He wasnt driving it though, something was driving him. All Raynor could do was watch. Bypassing several security zones he drove into the innermost tunnels under the city. He got out of his car and walked into a doorway.

"We're being followed." stated KarMegus. Shalboa nodded. He raised his Needler. "No," said KarMegus. "We must not let the beast we know of it's location." "Where is its location?" asked Shalboa. "I don't want to get mysteriously sniped because I'm keeping an eye out in the wrong direction." "A little out to the East." Shalboa nodded. They made camp, and got out some of the supplies they had taken from the building. KarMegus took a long drink of water, and Shalboa helped himself to some food. "These Humans have a terrible taste in food." said Shaloboa. KarMegus couldn't help but chuckle, despite his current situation. Disguising a glance at the Human's direction as him reaching for some food, KarMegus saw the reflection of a scope. He grabbed Shalboa and pulled him out of the way just as the Human fired his weapon. "Oh good. a Reclaimer." said 241. KarMegus grimaced, the bullets had skimmed his bicep, leaving a faint scratch. He was glad that it was just a scratch, because now he had to fight. "Show yourself, coward!" yelled Shalboa.

The drone burst into pieces as he landed a direct shot. Irk reaimed his weapon at the mechanical orb floating a little too close to him. He fired a round at it that bounced off the orb harmlessly. He fired again. Same result. "Stop your fire reclaimer." Irk drew his blade. Whatever this thing was, it was delirious. He launched himself at it and drove the blade into the metallic surface. Irk activated the explosive and jumped away. The orb exploded. But not in the typical explosion. It sat in the air. Shattered pieces floating. Then came the second explosion. Irk was sent spiraling back several hundred feet until he hit the ground. The suit registered severe damage, the shields werent fuctioning, the right arm was broken, and he tasted copper.

KarMegus sprinted over and picked the Human up by the throat and slammed him into the wall of the cliff next to them. The Human made no effort to resist. Karegus loosened his grip so the hHuman could breathe. "Name?" KarMegus asked. "Irk" he replied.KarMegus let the Human drop, and it immediatly clutched its arm. KarMegus helped Irk up. Irk was still clutching his arm. "Follow. You don't have much of a choice. In fact, you made our job a whole lot harder by destroying the Monitor." KarMegus had become a lot more fluent in the Human language after his time with Sanchez and Raynor."The... Monitor?" KarMegus sighed. "I will explain as we walk. Follow me."

Cassidy had been wandering through the desert for hours. He dropped to his knees. He had made a mistake, and now was lost without food or water. He saw two silhouettes off in the distance. He got up and went toward them. He got close enough to see what appeared to be a Brute in Honor Guard armor and a Spartan, with MJOLNIR armor. Cassidy sighed. A Spartan was there so it must be safe for him to travel with them. He ran over, and the Brute looked at him. It reached handed him some water. Cassidy nodded. It was going to be a long trip.

Irk couldnt feel him arm all too well. He had put it in a sling. When he felt it, it was pain, but he was used to it. Irk followed the brute, with little question. Something that had spared him made a horrible mistake by doing so.
That was when the marine appeared over the horizon.

Raynor walked down the hallways undisturbed. His controller was searching for something. He would look up at the door number and continue back down. Look at another number and continue. After ten minutes of this Raynor opened the door. Sparkling MJOLNIR hung on the wall. It was recently produced. Another one hung next to it. Raynor knew that only spartans could wear it. So he was terribly suprised when he got into it. Although, he felt no pain when it started moving. Then, Raynor regained control. A claw came out of the celing and started building framework for a suit. Raynor walked toward the door and found it was locked. When he next turned around. Another spartan was in the room with him.
A voice came from the other one, a very familiar voice.
"Its nice to be free again."

KarMegus now had two Humans helping him. He hasn't had much luck travelling with Humans, but he had no choice. He was in a partially good mood, because he hadn't seen any Flood since he had left the city. KarMegus recognized the rock structure. They were almost to the Ark. KarMegus stopped. He heard a familiar sound, and yet it was different, louder. KarMegus turned around and saw himself face to face with at least five Flood Combat Forms, but they were all over 10 feet tall. The images of the battle nearly a week ago flashed through his mind. "What the hell are those things!"yelled Cassidy. "They're infected Hunters." KarMegus informed him. He raised his Carbine and began shooting.

Irk fired some shots placed on where the limbs were but ran out of the clip quickly. He had disabled only one of them, and he only had enough ammo to disable two more. He forced his right arm to reload and take another couple of shots to disable another one of them. Shooting the limbs apart. But one flanked him and knocked him to the ground. He felt pain shoot through his body, as he crashed. It couldnt be doing anything good for his arm. The form was about to crush him when cassidy got its attention. It turned towards cassidy and Irk mustered enough strength to leap onto its back, and manually tear, and beat its body until it couldnt move. Irk tried to get a "Thank you" out but another hunter form bashed him aside where he soon became unconcious.

Raynor followed 213 running down the hallways, he was running faster than he had even run before. Yet, he felt no bone breaks. This was a new generation of armor. 213 got into the car and so did Raynor, just as 213 spun the car around to zoom out of the tunnel. They ended up out of the city in the desert. Raynor had just enough time to ask 213 what was going on.
"We need to get to that brute once more. The other monitor has tempted him again, and I need to halt him. He knows how to reprogram the halos. But the monitor has told him to activate the ark. After we gain his allegaice, we will free this city of its tyranny. These suits are going to be the undoing of human kind."
Raynor closed his eyes in order to take it all in.....
