My Crew @ Home |
To be completely honest, I must admit that I am really from a little place called Gig Harbor. As the name implies, this is a harbor, located in the Puget Sound near Tacoma. Orginally a quaint fishing village, it is now what it has been affectionately dubbed (by The End's DJ Marco Collins) a Snobville. I like it, though, so visit!
I moved to Gig Harbor as an 8th grader. I made new friends--many of whom I've lost touch with since then and many of whom I still see, if not regularly. Here's to my best Pen High grads on the planet; I don't know where I'd be if I didn't have them.
*Dave, who gave me the name of "Rica Air" and the title of "lemon flavored prostitute" during our time in US History;
*Ben, my should-have-been prom date;
*Jeff, a navy man going to school in Portland; and,
*Clint, the other navy man now stationed in Honolulu. Congrats on the wedding!
*Jay, aka "Heckles," who I met on my own in that US History class and saw more of during 11th grade American Studies, deemed my car the CrashMobile this summer;
*Aaron, the only one who understands that RICE BURNERS kick ass!, even though he crashed the Honda in favor of the Toy;
*Arne, or should we call him Superman?;
*Bill, who I first met as Billy in the 8th grade;
*Dave, or RossMan, kudos on the purchase of your first house;
*Larry, what's up with leaving the U?;
*Jeremy ("One-Shot Shooter"), Pacific Lutheran University drop-out, and wrestling for the Pacific Wrestling Federation with Jay;
*BJ, who can give you 100 personal insults directed towards himself in under a minute; and
*Katy, not a boy but the other of the two honorary [i.e. female] crew members who I absolutely adore!
*Don't let me forget Andrea, WSU Coug and way the toughest person I know!
Since August of '98, I feel only closer to all of these friends and not a day goes by that I think of each and every one of them--and remember just how lucky I really am. They make me feel very loved in the no-girls-allowed clubhouse that is "the crew;" all within my sophomore year (at Western); I learned that: (a) I would be Dave's choice step-sister; (b) Arne dubbed me an "honorary crew member," and (c) getting a second piercing my left ear (witnessed by 4 of the crew at Harley's Hippie Hut, Parkland) made my membership offical. |
