This time's To Do: Make A Unique Bulletin Board
I always have a big pile of movie stubs, concert tickets, and photographs from fun summer activities. Now you can display your own momentos without damaging them with tacks or tape. This easy bulletin not only looks cool, it's easy to make!
1. Get a corkboard. You can get one (without a frame) from Wal-Mart, or a similar store.
2. Cover the corkboard. This step is optional. If you want, you can use cloth or wrapping paper to cover the front of the board. Use enough to cover the whole thing with one piece, fold it over the edges, and use strong tape or glue to secure it. You can also use staples or flat tacks.
3. Tack up ribbons. Use gift wrapping style ribbons (they're about a half an inch thick) for this step. Cut the ribbon into several strips longer than the length of the board, and line them up on the board; allowing equal spaces in between. (you can put the ribbons parallel to the edges of the board, or diagonal across it.) In the opposite direction, line up more ribbon; leaving the same amount of space between each ribbon. This will form several squares across the board. To keep the ribbons in place, put flat tacks wherever the ribbons cross.
4. Fold the ribbons behind. Glue or tape the extra ends of the ribbons behind the board to hide them. Make sure you allow enough ribbon to do this- it makes the board look neat.
5. Display your momentos! Tuck the corners your photos and tickets under the ribbons. You don't need tape or tacks like a regular bulletin board- the ribbons hold your things! This is much cooler looking than a regular brown board, and you made it yourself!
