ROOM IDEAS
Jewelry boxes. Take a wooden box or shoebox and paint it, cover it with magazine clippings, wrap it in ribbon, or make it one of the "brown paper packages tied up with strings." Fill with whatever you want -- jewelry, candy, photos, concert tickets, whatever.
Murals. Make, buy, or print out stencils and paint tiny designs on your walls (like ladybugs or stars or letters). Or you can make cool curlique designs on your walls with yarn or ribbons.
LOCKER IDEAS
Curtains. Put strands of door beads or make your own in your locker. Tie a ribbon to each inside wall of your locker to keep the curtains out of the way during your busy day, or just let them hang loose. To make your own curtains, take some yarn, ribbon, streamers, etc. (you could even cut a pair of jeans to be cutoffs and take some of the extra denim and make it strips of denim to hang down). On the "string" stick stickers, tie lil photos or clippings, thread beads, braid with other strands, or anything else you want to do! Tip: If you have a small or shared locker, you may wanna tie pencils and pens onto the curtain so you can keep track of your supplies!
Hammocks. Take some cloth or netting or cut up too-short tights and make a small hammock and tape it to the roof of your locker. Put supplies or potpourri in it (a great way to de-smellify gym lockers! Heehee!)
Rhinestones. Get some cheap rhinestones (buy regular ones or a pack of hair or face rhinestones). Get a long (as long as your locker) strip of fabric or wrapping paper and glue the rhinestones on, randomly or patterned. Voila! Tape this thin strip to the inside of the door near the handle for an upliftingly sparkly decoration. |
