Resident Evil 1 & 2
Capcom
Sony Playstation
Imagine, if you will, that you
are trapped inside a creepy
old mansion and you have
been separated from your
friends. Imagine that you must
locate the source of a hideous
evil and put a stop to
sickening experiments done in the name of power.
Okay, now imagine one more thing: Imagine that the
mansion is overrun by hoards of flesh-eating
zombies, inhuman monsters and a wide assortment
of killer freaks. Imagine no more. Resident Evil is
here.
Resident Evil takes the
player and sticks them
smack dab in a world of
horror and lets the player
take the chances, figure the
puzzles and best of all,
encounter and blow away a
wide range of hideous flesh-eating monsters. The first
game was very basic, but way ahead of it's time as
far as technology. It has a top-down perspective with
incredible changing camera angles and texture
mapping to die for, literally. You can play one of two
characters: Jill (the master of lock-picking), or Brad.
You are placed inside a mansion OUTSIDE Raccoon
City where zombies and creatures are running amok
and it is up to you to figure out who's behind the
creation of the monster, and find your friends and
escape. It's simple perfection, just you, some great
weapons and a shit-load of zombies.
Then RESIDENT EVIL 2 came
out and blew the lid off the
whole horror gaming genre.
The story picked up where the
last game left off except now
instead of limiting the zombie
invasion to a single mansion,
an entire city is the setting for an extraordinary
gaming adventure. Again you have two characters to
choose from, but there are more weapons,
interaction and blood-letting than ever before. But by
far the most amazing aspect of Resident Evil is that
you as the player are part of the story. Action segues
into graphic cinematic sequences that reveal story
points and hints and keep you part of the action.
There's a lot of blood and gore, and amazingly, more
than just a couple genuine scares.
Resident Evil is a triumph in
game-play and horror and
for any fan of zombies, who
has ever wondered how
they would fare in a world
overrun by flesh-eaters, this
is your chance. Grab your
shotgun, load up and head into the intense world of
Resident Evil and try to survive.

And for the
readers in
the crowd,
there's also a

EVIL COMIC available

POPULARITY
Resident Evil's
popularity has produced
more than just games.
There are novels,
strategy guides, cheat
books, even a movie in
the works. Now little
Timmy and/or Margaret
can play with there very
own TYRANT action
figure and pretend to
hunt down the puny
humans, and rip their
arms out of their sockets. |
