If you have a sensetive guy:
Take him to a nice, quiet spot where you can be alone as he may shed a tear. Let him down gently eg. the old-fashioned, "It's not you, it's me!" Though remember, if he is going to tell everyone that you have some problems and they prevented you from dating him and he says to everyone that you have really funny problems and there is something wrong with you, i suggest you try a different approach. You could tell him that you think it's time to move on or you're not in love with him any more.
If you have a guy that doesn't take bad news too well:
Let him down slowly but surely. Make sure you express your feelings to him at the right time and try to be alone so that he is not mad at the humiliation that you have put him through. If there is a problem at all in your relationship and he is hard to talk to, then i suggest you talk to your mum about it because mum's are usually good like that. If you don't have a mum, then just someone that you feel comfortable talking about this to and someone that will not make matters worse.
Guys that are too clingy:
You could try talking to him about this. If you do not want to dump him but want him to let you live your own life not with him all the time. You could try telling him this. If he resists, tell him that if this continues, you don't think it is such a good idea that you go out any more. You could try parting away from him a bit. Or hang with friends a little bit more.
