First Issue: GLOSS, our favoute!!!!!
Do your lips a service and gloss up for summer!
Make-up should be as seasonal as your wardrobe. When you find yourself reaching for a T-shirt instead of a sweater, it's time to reassess your
make-up.
For active, outdoor summer days, put away your dark winter lippies and pick up a clear or coloured gloss. A good gloss will keep your lips healthy as well as looking very kissable. Plus, with only a hint of colour, gloss is great for school, too.
Our fave is Foxy's three stack lip gloss pots (which come in a great pouch with matching mini nail colours), $9.95
We asked one of our fave Summer Bay residents, Rebecca Cartwright (Hayley), to take a breather from her gruelling work schedule to rate Impulse's new Oxygen Body Spray and give us the lowdown on Hayley's and Noah's relationship for this season of Home And Away.
'I think a fragrance tells a lot about a person. It is your trademark. It can remind you of someone special and moments you have shared. Smell is a very powerful tool for triggering memories. I like the Impulse Oxygen Body Spray because the bottle is a relaxing colour. The type of person who would wear this fragrance would be someone young and funky. Girls that are on the go.
'I have a very basic beauty regime. I wear moisture and an SPF and save perfume for special occasions. But, when I go out I always spray on a fragrance. As I have grown older I have started to explore different fragrances and make-up. Mascara is my favourite make-up but, unfortunately I can't wear it on the show, so I always make sure I use it when I go out.'
Hayley (Rebecca's character) is also growing up. 'She used to be quite straight but she is growing up and dealing with new issues including her relationship with Noah (Beau Brady). They seem to be OK, but there may be a rocky road ahead for them. They will have to deal with some big issues that could make or break their relationship.'
And what is the most unusual thing Rebecca has had to do for her character on Home and Away, in terms of beauty regime? 'Hayley constantly changes hairstyles. The make-up department didn't want to use the same hairstyle forever, so it became a challenge to create a new look. It worked though and we have had heaps of people calling and writing in, wanting to copy the look!
Run out of blush? Can't afford that new eyeshadow? No problem - use what you have around the house on your face, hair and body
appletise
If your hair's a little lank from too much gunk, apple cider vinegar will do the strip trick. Shampoo, then spray all over your strands, leave for 20 minutes, rinse thoroughly, then condition. It doesn't smell the best, but your hair'll be shinier than your pop's bald spot.
rock salt
If you don't have the dosh for a fancy exfoliator, raid Mum's supply of rock salt. Wet your legs, then rub like a good thing in a circular motion to rid your limbs of scaly skin.
vaseline
If you're out of highlighter or eyeshadow but still want to look like a dewy princess, Vaseline is a good all-rounder. To apply, smooth on just below your brow, over lids, or on cheekbones.
witch hazel
If you have oily skin and are suffering from breakouts, splash a water-soaked cotton pad with witch hazel and tone away.
lemon
If it's highlights you're after, but you can't afford your hairdresser, nick a wedge of lemon, squeeze over hair and squat in the sun for a bit. Repeat until you get the desired effect, but don't go nuts, or you'll end up with string-like hair.
tea tree oil
If you've got a few nasty pimples and want them to go away, invest in some tea-tree oil and apply directly to the offending eruption. Works a tree, oops, we mean treat.

You can get the cocktail look without touching a bottle of Malibu or Crème de menthe. It's all about being bold enough to wear colour. Choose a bright green or blue for your eyes, add lashings of mascara and team it with bright red lips and pink cheeks.
