The Simpsons; Around the World in 80 D'Ohs
RedFawn.com final review

Review:

Price: £14.99/ ~$17.50

Brief summary:

The Simpsons shatter the globe! Travel in style with The Simpsons as they pack their suitcases and travel Around The World in 80 D'Ohs! From London to Japan, from Brazil to Africa, join The Simpsons on the trip of a lifetime with four travel themed episodes previously unreleased on DVD!

30 Minutes over Tokyo:

With the money they save after attending a cost-cutting seminar, The Simpsons are able to afford a trip to Japan. They soon spend all of their money and become contestants on a Japanese game show in order to return to Springfield.

Simpsons Safari:

A bagboy strike at Springfield's supermarkets leads The Simpsons to an old box of animal crackers, which wins them a free trip to Africa, where they encounter a chimpanzee sanctuary that is not what it appears.

Blame it on Lisa:

The Simpsons receive a phone bill which includes an expensive call to Brazil. It turns out that Lisa was trying to locate an orphan boy to whom she had sent money. The Simpsons journey to Brazil to find him, but Homer winds up kidnapped instead.

The Regina Monologues:

The Simpsons journey to London, where Grampa attempts to reconnect with a long-lost flame while Bart and Lisa go nuts after sampling British chocolate. After Homer has a fender-bender with a golden coach belonging to the Queen, the family must again plead their way out of a foreign land.
Special Guest Appearances: - Tony Blair - Sir Ian McKellen - J.K. Rowling - Jane Leeves
This new DVD from FoxtvDVD is certainly an interesting package; it has four of the best recent episodes, including the Regina Monologues, containing brilliant mix ups and unpatriotic homosexuality. Although the episodes get increasingly random as they go along, they are still hugely funny, and far better than the old ones. The punchlines come thick and fast, showing that the episodes have had good writers. The celebrities that appear in them add more to the DVD; Tony Blair, for example is mistaken by Homer for Mr Bean, which, although the episode is probably targeted more at British viewers rather than American ones, still adds a kick. The themes of the episodes are, unsurprisingly, universal, so even adults and young children can watch the DVD. The best thing about the package is that is offers a wide range of humour; some targeted at children, some at adults, some at teenagers. This, of course, makes sure that the whole family can find something to laugh at. In short, this is probably the best DVD in the Simpsons Range so far, although some of the episodes are extremely random. RedFawn.com rating; 8/10 The language options are as follows; English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finish, Portuguese, Turkish, Icelandic. There are also trailers for the show's season box set releases and an animation showcase. At RedFawn.com this gets a gold star.
