My Keeper Shelf
What I've Read, Loved and Kept Through The Years

NEW! Poetry and Doll Maker with Galleries!     [Learn About Our Ecommerce]
Graphics Gallery!

We've all done it. We pick up a book and wonder if it will live up to the hype. Everyone is raving about it on the internet; it's the hottest book this season. Everyone's taste is just a little bit different and ten readers will come up with ten different opinions. If we're lucky we'll enjoy the book; then again maybe not - we never know.
Then are those unexpected keepers - maybe a book you pick up at random if there's nothing else to choose from; or you pull the book off a shelf to make room for a newer one. You settle down for a few hours reading when you start to realize this book has something special, something you never expected to find in this ordinary-looking book.

THIS BOOK WILL BE A KEEPER!

Before I begin the list of my keepers, I have to say that I've heard that there are some readers out there who don't keep books - personally I've never met one but in some ways I envy them. I wish I could be just a little bit less sentimental about keeping some of those wonderful books I've read.

As of 09/21/08 I've updated the The Keeper Shelf page. I've deleted some authors as I have begun to purge my book collection - not that it means I'm cutting down on book or authors, it just means that I've added new authors to my keepers. Someday I'm going to do a "How'd That Book EVER Get Published" page as I've recently been reading some duds that received positive internet buzz: all they did was sting me.
