The Candlelight series was the proving ground for a number of today's best romance writers - Diana Palmer, Sandra Brown, Heather Graham, Maura Seger, and Anne Stuart all wrote some of the best (and collectible today) Candlelight Romances. Writing as Diana Blayne, Diana Palmer's Candlelights are collectible and have sold for as much as $50 on the Internet. I've been a long-time Palmer fan so I treasure my Diana Blaynes and would never sell them. Some of my favorite Ecstasy authors were Jo Calloway, Eleanor Woods (I still wonder what happened to her - I miss her books), Amii Lorin, Alice Morgan, and a number of others. With more and more used book stores not stocking the older, defunct series it's getting harder to find them. Whether this makes these hard-to-find books collectible is up for debate. While it's true that some authors' books are commanding high prices not all authors are "collectible" - they're simply not easy to find. I love these old series - they're part of my reading past and gave me so many hours of relaxation and enjoyment. For those who are new to romance books they might not even be aware of these out-of-print series (Raptures, SCAL, Ecstasies, Velvet Glove and so on) but for some of us "old-timers" it's a walk down memory lane.
