Summon Materia is the Coolest Materia. It lets you summon monsters to attack your enemies.
Each red Materia has Five Levels. At level one, you can summon it once per battle, level 2, twice, and so on.
CHOCO/MOG (wind)
Find this Materia in the Chocobo Stables. Talk to the chocobo and select the second option. The chocobos will dance for you and give you Choco/Mog.
DEATHBLOW! A mog in a ninja headband rides a chocobo into the enemies, doing about 200 damage and sometimes stopping them.
FAT CHOCOBO I've only seen this twice. A giant fat chocobo falls from the sky on your enemies, doing about 1000 damage.
SHIVA (ice)
When you beat the Bottom Swayer in Junon Town, Priscilla gives you this in the morning.
DIAMOND DUST Shiva, a beautiful woman with blue skin in a bikini, comes down and casts some cool ice magic on your enemies. This does about 500 damage.
IFRIT (fire)
After fighting Jenova BIRTH on the ship, she leaves this behind her.
HELLFIRE Ifrit, a giant fire demon, pops out of the ground and roasts your enemies with a fire wave. does 400-700 damage
RAMUH (lightning)
At the Gold Saucer, chocobo racing jockey room. It's hidden behind a poster on the far wall.
JUDGEMENT BOLT A mountain forms out of the ground, and Ramuh appears on top of it. He uses his staff to make a bunch of lightning that pressure cooks everyone. Does 600-800 damage.
ODIN (physical)
You don't have to get it, but it's inside the safe in Nieblehiem. Kill Lost Number and pick it up. Odin, if you choose to get it, is the first heavy summon.
STEEL BLADED SWORD Odin is seen on a mountain top in front of the moon. He leaps down and Slashes enemies with his sword. If it hits, they instantly die.
GUNGE LANCE It starts to rain and Odin comes through the mist, with a huge, baddass lance. He throws it into the sky and it comes back down, landing on your enemies for a whopping (at this point in the game) 1,900 damage!
BAHAMUT (unblockable non-elemental)
The second heavy summon spell (first if you don't get Odin) and one of the coolest. Beat the Red Dragon boss in the Temple of the Ancients, and he'll leave it behind.
MEGA FLARE The sky gets dark, and Bahamut, a giant dragon, dives down. He then blasts the baddies with a huge nuke class laser. Best thing about Bahamut is, it can't be blocked and always does 1-3000 damage.
ALEXANDER (holy {yes!})
Oh yes. This materia is a little tricky to get. In the great glacier, look at the map. Theres a part that looks like a river, with a path leading over it. Go to the path and theres a placethat you can go down to the river from. Touch the water, and go to the lost in the snow area. Use two markers in a row so you can see which direction you were going in every time the wind blows, and go right. You'll come to a path leading right. Fallow it, and you come to a place with a path leading down, back, and up to a cave. Go into the cave and theres a lady there name is snow. If you touched the hot springs, she'll get pissed at you and attack. She's pretty easy to beat, if you have protection against confuse and a decent fire spell, which she's weak against. She dies and drops your first mega summon, Alexander.
JUDGEMENT: The ground shatters, and up comes Alexander, and Giant Castle like monster. His helmet (or tower) opens, and A blast of Holy energy comes out, doing 5,000 damage! Yes!
NEO BAHAMUT (un-blockable non-elemental)
Bahamut is such a good summon, he comes back again (and again later, too)! At the whirlwind maze, near the save point, theres a red orb pretty hard to miss. Get it or die!
GIGA FLARE The ground shatters, and a piece of earth carrying your enemies flies up into the sky. Their, Neo Bahamut, an orange-red dragon about five times as big as the original, blasts the baddies. The rock breaks apart and they fall about five miles down again, with their HP minus 4-6000!
HADES (Status)
You find Hades in Gelnika, the crashed Shinra Airplane, in the cargo room. It is right by the crashed helicopter.
BLACK CAULDRON: A circular shrine forms in front of the baddies, pillars on all sides of it. An anvil type thing appears swinging over the middle of the circle, where Hades, a skeleton scorcerer, appears with his black cauldron. He conjures up something and blasts it at the enemy, inflicting about 4,000 damage plus every negative status possible. This is really helpful.
TYPHON (wind, or some people think ice-fire-lightning-wind. It just says wind though)
This guys the third best Summon in the game. You need a Green, Black, or Gold Chocobo to get him, and a lot of patience. He's in Ancient Forest, in the trees. In the canopy screen farthest to the the right, Typhon is in a bag. Now try to get out of Ancient Forest.
DISINTIGRATION A giant, pink monster with two faces hovers in front of your enemies, and sneezes or something, blowing away the enemies and creating a veritable tornado. The other face goes to work, turning everything upside down and blasting the bad guys. It does 7,000 to 9,000. Can you say easy battles?
BAHAMUT ZERO (unblockable non-elemental)
The guys at square just love Bahamut don't they. He's been in all the FF games with summoned creatures, usually the most powerful. He's number two this game. You need the blue huge materia from Cid's Rocket (the combination is in my cheat section). At Bugenhagen's observatory, when he puts the huge materia in there and you can touch them, touch the blue one, if you have bahamut and neo bahamut. Those materia begin to glow, and bahamut roars from space, and you get bahamut Zero.
TERRA FLARE Oh yes. The camera goes into space, and spins around the galaxy before coming back to earth. Bahamut ZERO flies out (he's as big as a medium sized country) spreads his six wings, and blasts away. Back in the battle area, a giant blue light comes down from the sky, and you hear bahamut roar. The baddies are totally demolished with a mega nuke blast. I've seen it do anywhere from 4,000, if the baddies got lots of resistance, to 9,999, the max for any summon monster.
KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE [KOR] (Extreme Summoned Monsters)
If your thinking, how could any summon monster do more than Bahamut ZERO, who does the max, it's because this, the ultimate summon in the game, isn't one summon monster, it's thirteen. The best by a landslide. If you have a gold Chocobo use it to go across the ocean to ROUND ISLAND, the last materia cave. Inside is the one the only, KOR, capable of Killing Sephiroth's first form in a single blow (the second to last boss of the game!)
ULTIMATE END It takes two minutes to show the demolition. A circle of energy forms around the baddies, and they are transported to a big red place, and then to space as 12 Knights go Ballistic on their unworthy asses. After the twelth Knight, They are in a black area, as KING AURTHUR himself flies up (At first I thought he was bahamut in armor) and gives them a dose of ExCalibur. The screem goes white, cracks form and the it breaks, back into the battle, where your allies are suddenly alone. The only downside is you can link it to Quadra magic (I've heard that if you master it you can) but you can still W-Summon it. Accept no substitutes.
