GETTING VINCENT VALENTINE

When in the Shinra mansion, there is a room on the main floor. It has a piece of paper that tells you about someone hidden in the basement, and hints for a safe combination. If you can't figure out the hints, the combo is Right 36, Left 10, Right 59, Right 97. If you pass a number, you'll have to start over. It's hard to get, and when you do, a boss comes out of the safe, the lost number. He is half phisical and half magical. If you use phisical attacks a lot on him, he'll become all phisical (immune to regular attacks), and hard to beat, so just use magic at the beggining and he'll become immune to magic, and easy to beat.

ROCKET COMBO

What is the combination to the huge materia in Cid's Rocket?
Playstation: O, S (square),X,X
PC: [OK], [SWITCH], [CANCEL], [CANCEL]

LIMIT BREAKS

To level up a limit break, your character has to use their respective level limit break a certain amount of times (these numbers are approximate and vary slightly with character).

Level 1/1 must be used 10 times. Level 2/1 must be used 8 times. Level 3/1 must be used 6 times. Level 4 must be obtained at a world map location and used on the character. The level x/2 limit must kill 40-80 enemies (based on the character and general limit break level) to acquire an entirely new limit break level.

Quick Money

Go to the desert outside of the Gold Saucer and walk around for a while. Sooner or later a little Cactus Man will appear. You can't beat him with magic or weapons, but he can be defeated by summoning Choco Mog. If you manage to kill him he's worth 10,000 gil!

Quick Money II

At the Gold Saucer most attractions require you to have GP. Once you have entered by shuttle, go to the top left-hand corner to the save point. At the house to the right there is a chance that there will be a dark figure. He will sell you 100 GP for 1000 gil.

Chocobo Racing Made Easy

When in the Chocobo Race, hold L1+L2+R1+R2 for extra speed and hold R1+R2+X (Playstation version only) to keep speed up and not lose any stamina.

The Key to Midgar

First talk to the man standing by the doors back at Midgar City. He won't appear until after you've gotten the Highwind and rescued Cloud from Mideel Village. Talk to him, then return to the excavator's village on the Northern Continent. Chat with the man by the door and pick the first option, then the second or third option. While you could place diggers and hunt for the Key yourself, if you want to cheat, go over to the destroyed plane atop the dinosaur's skull. See the one excavtor near the bottom of the screen? Near him is a tiny piece of metal sticking outwards; position yourself underneath it and press up so that your character is looking forward. Check the box in the morning, to get the key.

You can use the Key to enter the locked gates near Area 7 and look around Midgar City. If you go into the church where you met Aeris, you can see her bending over the flowers; she'll flicker and disappear after a second. There's not a lot to do here, but if you go back to the Wall Market and go to the 'ITEM' building with the machine gun inside it, you can get Tifa's Ultimate Weapon by examining the computer before the gun fires upon you (you don't need Tifa to get the item). Also, remember the man in the gun shop that you bought the Battery from to reach the Shinra Building back in Disc 1? The man in the left side of the shop will sell you an accessory (Sneak Glove) for 129,000 gil this time around.

ALL LUCKY 7 FEVER

If you raise or lower a Characters HP to exactly 7,777, their name will start flashing and they'll go berserk, attacking every enemy about three times for 7,777 damage each hit. I got this once on Hojo, the last boss of disk 2, and didn't have to enter a single command. It's really cool, but really hard. Currently I'm trying to find a combo that puts you in this state. Oh, yeah, theres one downside. After the battle your characters HP drops to 1, but can be cured with normal means.

TURTLES PARADISE
There are six of these flyers scattered throughout the world. You can find them in the following locations:

Flyer 1 - Midgar City
The town next to Aeris' house. Go to the second floor of the southeastern building and look at the papers taped to the wall by the stairwell.

Flyer 2 - Shinra HQ
On the first floor, check out the board with the papers on it near the elevators. The only time you can read this flyer is at the beginning of the game or when you raid Midgar in Disc 2.

Flyer 3 - Gold Saucer
Go to the Ghost Square and enter the hotel. Read the sign that says 'SHOP' next to the shop entrance.

Flyer 4 - Cosmo Canyon
Check the left wood post of the Tigerlily Arms Shop.

Flyer 5 - Cosmo Canyon
The gold paper by the door on the second floor of the inn (the entrance is behind some hanging cloth near the bonfire).

Flyer 6 - Wutai
The bottom floor of Yuffie's house; it's the wall scroll to the right of the doorway. You can't get there unless you've done the sub-quest.

You don't have to find the flyers (they look like pieces of paper) in order. Whenever you have read all six of them, go to the restaurant in Wutai (the large building in the southwestern corner of town). Talk to the barkeep and you'll get a Power Source, Guard Source, Magic Source, Mind Source, Speed Source, Luck Source, and a Megaelixir.

ESCAPE
Interestingly enough, you will instantly flee a battle if at least one character is petrified, stopped, or paralyzed while in the 'running' pose. So as long as you are not fighting a boss or have been ambushed, you can always escape simply by letting the enemy do one of the above attacks to you, or by doing it to yourself (via Spell Materia)! This is also useful if all your members are paralyzed, stopped, or whatever, and your last character is about to suffer a similar fate. Simply try to run away (even if you can't), and you'll escape the moment you are hit by the attack. The only exception to this trick is that if you are petrified and your other teammates are dead or petrified, then you will always lose.

DUPLICATE ITEMS
Make sure you have the W-Item Materia equipped. When in battle, select the W-Item and choose the item you wish to duplicate and select the character you want to use it on. When the cursor returns to the item selection window again, select the same item as before but do not select the character. Cancel by pressing X. Strangely enough, another will appear in your inventory. Choose the item again and cancel as many times as you want to duplicate that item.

UNCHARTED ISLAND

Probably Everyone knows about Round Island, the Island that you can't go to with the Highwind, only a gold chocobo. It has Knights of the Round (KOR) Materia on it, the most powerful summon in the game. There is another uncharted Island, called cactus Island. It has a tiny patch of green to land the highwind in, and the rest is desert. On the desert you can fight these fast little cactus men, called Cactuars, that give you Tetra Elementals When you Morph them. This Island is due south from Cosmo Canyon.

Also, you can fight cactuars and the Sea Worms from Mideels beach in the desert outside the cave with the HP<>MP materia. It can only be reached with a Black or Gold Chocobo.

PALADINS RING

I never have gotten this to work, but heard it from various sources on the net that if you get the curse ring, and fight 255 battles with it, you can get something called the paladins ring. I heard this makes you immortal, which would be deadly to enemies, especially if you used HP<>MP materia. To get the Curse ring, Go to Mideel and Search around the outside of the Accesory shop building until you hear a clicking sound. Press enter to pick up a "Rusty Beat Up Old Usless Key" Go to the Weapon shop and use it in the door, when the key breaks. Tell the truth and the shop owner will give you the Curse ring. It raises your stats dramatically, but puts "Death Sentence" on your Character at the start of every battle. Use death force at the beginning of each battle and you should be fine.
