This weeks movie of the week is Mystery Men. With a great cast starring Ben Stiller and Jeneane Garafolo this movie gets the job done. Champion has virtually no crime do to the great super hero, Captain Amazing, who is bent on making money and endorsements. He has patched of his sponsers, from Pepsi to Jiffy Lube. Captain Amazings sponsers are getting board of him because there's no action due to the lack of crime. In order to spice things up Amazing's secret indetity, Lance Brockwell, puts in a vote from Amazing to release Casanova Frankenstein, Amazing's most difficult opponent. Casanova is released from the asylum. As Captain tries to stop one of Casanova's schemes he is captured. Amazing'll be killed in 24 hours and the city will be destroyed. Now its up to the Mystery Men.

This is just the shell of the plot. It is much more involved than that.

The Mystery Men:

Mr. Furious
INFO: One of the original 3 "Men," he is considered their leader.
POWER: he builds up anger and rage easliy.
LINE: Don't make me mad or I'll go Pompeii on your ... butt. I'm unpredictable, I'm a loose cannon.

The Shoveler
INFO: One of the original 3 "Men," auditions for new super heroes are held at his place. His wife is always threatening to leave him if he doesnt give up the super hero stuff to spend more time with her and their kids.
POWER: whacking people with his shovel.
LINE: God gave me a gift. I shovel well. Two hands there son(to invisible boy).

The Blue Rhaja:
INFO: One of the original 3 "Men," always has problems with his mom not understanding him.
POWER: throws forks.
LINE: I can't throw a knife, someone might get hurt.
QUIRK: accidentally kills Captain Amazing.

Invisible Boy:
INFO: a young guy living with his dad. The first outsider chosen to join the "Men."
POWER: can turn invisble. the catch is he can only do this when no one, not even himself, is looking at him. he can just feel it.
LINE: when the original 3 come to talk to him about joining he says to his dad, "Dad, I'm going to my room with three strange men."

The Spleen:
INFO: the group did not want him to join but eventually he gets to anyway. his immense power is first seen in a diner.
POWER: when his fingers are pulled he shoots gas when deadly aim and accuracy.
LINE: Just pull my finger. Excuse me.
QUIRK: While walking over hot coals as part of their training, explosions of fires come up behind him.

The Bowler:
INFO: Mr. Furious was against letting her join but she showed her great power and the rest of the group lets her in. carries around a bowling ball with the skull of her dead father in it.
POWER: Throws her bowling ball. goes whereever it wants, not just straight.
LINE: Sorry Spleen it'll take a lot more than just one beer. YOu might wanna put some clothes on if you wanna keep fighting evil today(to invisible boy).
QUIRK: Talks to the ball like her dad's talking to her even though no one else can hear it.

The Sphinx:
INFO: Trains the group to become stronger so they can defeat Casanova Frankenstein. has them make new costumes.
POWER: can break stuff with his mind.
LINES: (many different things that make no sense[mr furious makes a point of that])
