San Jose played host to this week's RAW IS WAR. The Radicals made their way to the ring to start off the show. DX soon followed. In typical McMahon-Helmsley Era fashion, Triple H and Stephanie booked the show. The Game alerted the crowd that the Road Dogg would be taking on Grand Master Sexay, Mr. Ass would face Scotty Too Hotty and Saturn and Malenko would team up to challenge Rikishi Phatu. Triple H then booked The Rock vs. Chris Benoit. Finally, Kane learned that he would face Triple H and a partner of his choice.

After Triple H and Stephanie laid down the law, Too Cool and Rikishi made their way to the ring. Looking into a ring full of Radicals and Degenerates, the threesome showed no fear. Kane quickly followed Too Cool and Rikishi. The Rock then accompanied the other four Superstars in attacking the Radicals and DX. The five Superstars quickly cleaned house.

After the commercial break, D-Von Dudley, Jeff Hardy and Edge competed in a Triple Threat Match to decide which team would face the New Age Outlaws for the Tag Team Championship at No Way Out. The action was both quick and brutal. When it was all said and done, the Dudleys were awarded the shot at No Way Out when D-Von caught Edge off guard with a reverse DDT.

Next up, the Road Dogg battled Grand Master Sexay in singles competition. The match, which was set up by Triple H earlier in the evening, came to an end when Sexay missed the Hip Hop Drop, allowing the Road Dogg to get the pin after a pump handle slam

The Godfather and D'Lo Brown then took on the team of Al Snow and Steve Blackman. Before the match, Al Snow attempted to convince Blackman that he had a personality. The Lethal Weapon obviously didn't fall for it. D'Lo was able to score the pinfall victory on Blackman after his partner Al Snow fraternizing with one of the hos distracted him.

The new European Champion Kurt Angle then challenged Chris Jericho to an Intercontinental Championship match at No Way Out. Never one to dodge a challenge, Y2J came down to ringside - not to accept his match at No Way Out, but to embarrass him then. The two Superstars scrapped in the middle of the ring until Chyna came down and floored an unexpecting Angle.

Chris Benoit, accompanied to ringside by Eddy Guerrero, made his way down the aisle to battle The Rock. The highly anticipated match-up lived up to all its hype. The momentum switched sides several times during the match, until Chris Benoit eventually scored the pinfall victory after Big Show interfered on his behalf.

Mr. Ass then took on one-half of the popular tag team Too Cool, Scotty Too Hotty. The capacity crowd was electric as Scotty and his tag team partner, Grand Master Sexay, danced their way to the ring. The one on one action was fast and furious, highlighted by a Scotty Too Hotty worm. Soon thereafter, Scotty scored the pinfall victory over Mr. Ass -give the assist to Grand Master Sexay.

Hardcore Holly joined J.R. and the King at the commentator's booth as Crash Holly challenged Essa Rios for the Light Heavyweight Championship. Essa, who was seconded to the ring by his valet Lita, wowed the crowd with numerous high-flying maneuvers. Crash finally fell victim to an Essa Rios moonsault. After the match, Lita executed the very same move on a fallen Crash Holly.

Also after the match, Hardcore Holly verbally abused Crash for losing to a lightweight. Hardcore then battled Tazz. Hardcore looked good in the early going. However, things started turning ugly for Hardcore when Tazz slapped his patented submission move on him. It was then that Crash Holly attacked Tazz, giving Tazz the victory via disqualification.

In two-on-one action, Rikishi Phatu squared off against Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn. The two Radicals looked helpless against the mammoth Rikishi. Just when it looked as though Rikishi had the match in control, Eddy Guerrero made his way to the ring and hit Rikishi in the ankle with a metal object. Rikishi was awarded the match by disqualification.

In the final match of the evening, Kane battled Triple H and the surprise partner of his choice - Big Show. Pre-match stipulations stated that if Kane was able to beat the two men, he would be granted a no holds barred match with X-Pac at No Way Out. Wanting nothing more than to get his hands on X-Pac at No Way Out, Kane absolutely destroyed Triple H and Big Show early on. However, it wasn't long before the one-man advantage took its toll on Kane. The two Superstars gained control at around the five minute mark. It appeared as though Kane's chances were dwindling when The Rock hit the ring in an attempt to even the score. The no disqualification match took an interesting turn when X-Pac and Cactus Jack then interjected themselves in the match. Finally, Kane won the match and a shot at X-Pac at No Way Out when he pinned Big Show after The Rock smacked him with a steel chair.
