IT MUST END: Edition 3, Week End Volume 2
By: MW

Finally the M has come back to the commentary page. After five long days I'm back to give you the greatest in news, predictions, thoughts, raves, and, of course, rants! First I want to let you all know that there will be a Fan's Edition, because I got more than enough mail! Look for that one some time this weekend. I really don't have much of an entrance today, but it's a weekend. Weekend are made for you to be lazy. Today is going to be a little different from just the usual rants. I'm going to have some news bits, questions, and predictions for No Mercy, in addition to a couple rants. Time's a wasting, so let's get started.
Really Random Rants
In some of the new reports and columns I read, the writers misspell Rikishi excessively. That is really, really annoying. Rikishi is a big name now, learn how to spell his name!
I'm going to try and discuss this more in week start volume 2, but for today I just want to touch base on my feelings on the Big Show. I really don't like him and never have. There is no one that can really match up with him due to his size except for Kane and The Undertaker. The Big Show has problems with everything from his hair (or lack thereof), to his wrestling skills to his weight.
What is up with about twenty refs running into the middle of a fight between guys who are paid to fight? No matter where the brawl is, whether in the ring or in the parking lot or anywhere else, the zebras are always on the scene. Now that is real crap that happens more in the WWF than in WCW. In WCW they usually have "security guys" do that sort of thing. I guess I can sort of see why, but it's really irritating.
Why on earth was Booker in the Armageddon thing on Thunder? I thought that it was for a title shot. What is up with that? Unless I missed some interview explaining it, then it's just another stupid mistake made by WCW that confused many. (If I'm wrong with this then please e-mail me at It_Must_End@wwfwcw.com.) Another thing about this Armageddon thing is that the actual fighting and punching was very fake, especially from the Harris Idiots - they really suck. Except for the ending. this match was very poor.
I was reading the week's ratings list, and I noticed something funny. WCW Nitro was beaten out by three episodes of the "Rugrats" at odd times and an episode of "Spongebob." That is really sad. Looks like WCW has to worry about Nickelodeon shows before they even start to worry about WWF.
When Guerrero's music hit on Smackdown! this Thursday, everyone cheered. Then they all realized, "Oh yeah, we don't like him. He's the Latino Cheat, not a face anymore." Interesting.
I'm sure I could go on and on with what-if's concerning the possible sale of WCW to WWF. I really don't want to spend any more time on something that might not happen. As more information becomes available, I will write more.
Notice how Los Conquistadors were covering their faces with their hand in the tag team battle royal on Smackdown! whenever the camera was on them. Looks like they want this secret kept.
If you have read my previous two articles then you will be amazed at what I am about to say. Finally, the Rock has....made me laugh. What he said about Kurt Angle in his interview on Smackdown about drinking milk was hilarious. What made it funny was the voice he used. Kurt Angle is the man everyone loves to make fun of. How funny is the bit where Triple H and The Rock compete to see who can slam their opponents heads in either the announcers table or the steel steps. That just cracks me up. The end sequence on Smackdown where The Rock gave Angle the corkscrew drop toehold and then the sharpshooter was really well done. It really looked good and I give props to the Rock for stepping up his game a little.
This PPV has the hardest matches to predict. Every match has two sides to the story and two very likely possibilities to it. I highly doubt that all of my predictions will be correct, but I'm doing my best. Here goes nothing...
WWF TITLE MATCH
Kurt Angle (with Stephanie)
vs. The Rock ©
Kurt Angle defeated Triple H earlier this month to become the #1 contender to The Rock's WWF Title. Now he has Stephanie leading the way to bigger and brighter things. So now this Sunday we could see the beginning of the end of the Triple H/Steph/Angle thing, which could all lead up to match between The Game and Kurt at Survivor Series. Kurt has been dominating through most of this feud, but the Rock put the hurt on Angle at the end of Smackdown! Therefore I am predicting that the WWF has it set up for a predictable win. Plus The Rock is getting old as champ and everyone wants to see him lose it.
Who should win: Kurt Angle
Who will win: Kurt Angle
No Holds Barred Slobber knocker
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. Rikishi Phatu
This match could very well be the most predictable match on the card if it is played out as expected. Everyone knows that if the match (no actually I don't think we can call this a match - rather a massacre) plays out as expected Austin will pound Rikishi down like nobody's business. He might even run him over. (He should do it with the beer truck!) However I think that the WWF could throw a huge swerve. How about having Stone Cold get hit again but this time by whomever Rikishi's accomplice is. Then this would open a whole new chapter of "Whodunnit." This would also let Austin rest for a little while and not take the risk of re-injuring himself like some tend to do (Johnny the Bull). The WWF likes to throw swerves so look for this brawl to be much more interesting then Austin beating down. It could be surprising. Who should win: Rikishi (only in the way above) Who will win: Stone Cold Steve Austin (It's his first match back, I doubt they'd let him lose.
Triple H vs. Chris Benoit
Although this match should be for #1 contendership for the World Title, this match is the one I am looking forward to the most. Two of my favorite stars going at it. I really think that this is without a doubt the best "wrestling" match on the card. When you have the best technical wrestler and the Game in the same ring, we are all bound to be treated to a great match. I think that this one could very well be compared to Triple H's match with Jericho at Fully Loaded. There are high expectations for this one. As far as who will win, it's really a toss up. Benoit has been screwed out of wins when fighting for the world title, but he has had advantage through most of the feud. I don't really expect the ending of this match to be anything other than a pedigree and pin or a crossface and tap-out.
Who should win: Chris Benoit
Who will win: It's really a toss up but I'm going with Triple H just because I think he will win.
Tag Team Title Match
The Hardy Boyz © vs. Los Conquistadors
Unlike The Game vs, Benoit, I think this match will have a really cool ending. Everyone think that the Conquistadors are Edge and Christian, but I see a swerve here. They will end up being two guys we never guessed. I think that there will be a major swerve in either this match or the Austin match, just not both. I'm probably wrong though. Just because no one knows who these guys are, I think it definitely adds to the ending of the match. I don't think that the people who wrestle as the conquistadors at No Mercy will be E & C even if they are revealed at them, because they have another match on the card. Will they be revealed? I doubt it. I see this as being dragged out as sort of a Blue Blazer thing. Will they win?
Who should win: Los Conquistadors (I am the Conquistador Extraordinair!)
The Hardyz are great champions and are really over with the crowd, but this match was made so quickly as to make me think that big things are in store for us.
Who will win: Los Conquistadors
Steel Cage Match
Chris Jericho vs. X-Pac
Cage matches are always fun, and this will be no exception. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that this will be Jericho's first cage match. This could be the most under estimated match, and I think that there very well could be a really big and risky ending from the top of the cage. I'm thinking along the lines of a lionsault from the top. It would be very cool but too dangerous. This better be the end of the feud because Y2J is way too good for the likes of X-Pac. Easiest match to predict.
Who should win: Chris Jericho
Who will win: Without a shadow of a shout of a doubt Chris Jericho
Dudleys Invitational Table Match
The Dudleys vs. Bull Buchanan & Goodfather vs. Too Cool vs. Tazz & Raven vs. Lo-Down vs. Edge and Christian
It's going to be wild. No other way to say it. I don't know who could possibly win. It's pretty much a given that RTC and Too Cool won't win, but who will? I really don't much more to say about this one.
Who should win: Lo-Down (They need a push and new outfits.)
Who will win: The Dudleys (It's their match!) Tazz and Raven have a slight chance.
The following matches have officially been added but probably will.
Six-Person Inter-Gender Tag Team Match
The Acolytes and Lita vs. T&A and Trish Stratus
The feud brewed because of a strip poker game. Lita and Trish are thrown in to start a bigger feud. If Lita and Trish weren't in this match, it would get bore of the night most definitely. Thank goodness for a little T and A, and I don't mean the tag team.
Who should win: APA and Lita (just because T&A should never win and need to break up)
Who will win: As long as Trish and Lita go at it, the biggest winner will be the fans. T&A usually is given the win over better more established teams, so they'll win if this match happens.
Chyna and Billy Gunn vs. Steven Richards and Val
With Intercontinental Champion Eddy Guerrero injured, Billy Gunn will instead team up with Chyna to face Steven Richards and Val. The rivalry actually just began the other night on Smackdown! when the RTC put the hurt on Chyna and Billy. Eddy will be a factor in this one.
Who should win: Chyna and Billy Gunn
Who will win: RTC w/ help from Guerrero
European Title Match
William Regal © vs. Whomever
I've heard that Regal will be taking on Mideon and I ask "why?" Shouldn't it be against Al Snow or Saturn? Oh well, we don't even know if this match will happen.
Who will win: Whoever Regal faces will lose. Regal will remain champ for a while.
That is all for edition 3, I hope you liked what I had to say.

It Must End: Edition 4, Reader's Edition 1
Today I have finally gotten around to doing the reader's edition. I am one day behind schedule, so tomorrow or Wednesday I will have up my No Mercy review. Speaking of that, I want to take this oppurtunity to gloat about my predicting skills. If you count T&A as winners since they walked off victorious after beating down their opponents, and if you count Austin a winner since he "took brutality to a whole new level" on Rikishi's fat ass, then I got a perfect 8 out of 8 right. I was even perfectly right with the ending of the RTC vs. Chyna/Gunn when I said that Eddy Guerrero would interfere. If you don't believe me check out IME: E3. This edition is made up of e-mails I recieved and my responses to them. The view expressed in the following are not neccessarily the views of we here are WWFWCW.com. Everyone has the right to their own opinions. All e-mails are editted to spare the feelings of fellow writers here. These e-mails were written and replied to a week ago so they are a bit out of date.
The prompt for most of these was: Do you think Rikishi was a good choice for the driver? And if not, who would you rather have had hit Austin? There is one particular answer that I was looking for, and I will give props to the person who gave me that answer right here. Of course I will also put in the other responses that interested me. To read more on what sparked people to write what they did, check out It Must End: Edition 2. Without further ado, here we go.

HI I really enjoy reading ur colomns they are really good. I think the best choise for the man who hit Austin would be Kane not Rikishi.C'mon Rikishi wasnt even in wwf back then , and the whole "Rock crying When rikishi telling that he ran over because of The rock story" makes me sick...!!! C'mon wouldnt u rather see Kane who was wrestling Stonecold In First Blood Match in king of the ring 98 ,or do u wanna c Rikishi feuding with StoneCold who wasnt even in wwf back then. Ok all I want to know is why u think Rikishi is bad for the role "Whodunit",and who would be the perfect man to ran over SSSA. ok thanx alot im waiting for ur e-mail .C ya .Im out

My Reply:
You have many valid points. The Rock usually makes me sick in everything he does, but I kind of liked what he was doing. It was different from the normal Rock which is good. So far Rikishi just hasn't shown the type of heel stuff [He's starting to do that now, and he's getting much more heel heat.] that Benoit shows and Triple H showed. He needs to be more aggresive [which he is doing]. Also I like the Kane idea. It's different from anything I've hear. They could also tie someone else in there, saying the Kane hit SCSA for someone and they in return taught Kane to speak. It all makes sense. Thanks for writing. MW

I read your article, which i like alot by the way even though ive always been biased when it comes to hogan! But i havent had a reply until now. I
do think the Rikishi as the culprit is a good idea if only to push Rikishi to the main event status he deserves. But i dont believe he is the real
culprit. I would have said the rock, thus leading to a rock/austin wrestlemania, buuut ive re-thought that now due to a recent development in WCW. This may be far fetched and i dont know if McMahon would take the chance on him but what about Scott Hall!! I am biased, I'll admit, Hall is my favorite wrestler, but why not! With Rock's popularity the WWF may have a rough time putting him over as a full fleged heel. Enter Scott Hall (the only guy getting a pop in WCW even though he hasnt been around for months!) hes an established star with mic skills who could become the top heel in WWF right away! I dunno just a thought. What do you think?

My Reply:
I too, as many others, am a huge Scott Hall fan. I would love for the WWF to sign him and push him heavily. Right now, however, I'm not sure that the WWF would take a chance on him with all the past problems. If he could prove he could still wrestle and behave, under a zero tolerance policy, I believe it could happen as far as the WWF bringing him in. I don't think he'd work well as the actually hitman since he clearly wasn't around the WWF at the time. and what would his motive be? I could see him being brought in as man behind the the hit. It could work, but I doubt it will happen. Thanks for writing.

[Speaking of Hall, what about what Nash said about him on Nitro? Send me thoughts on what will come of that.]

Hi...I would like to start out this letter by saying i read both your articles.. In order too... and I thought both were great. I actually dug the whole Rikishi being the driver angle. I think I am proabably the only one. But someone who I thought could have been better would be Test. Back then he was with vince and steph and the whole gang... He was still engaged to the owners daughter. If he got rid of stone cold.. Who did he think Vince would put in the place of austin.. Why his beloved Future son in law of course.. And the things that foley said about the driver would fit as well.. The seat was pushed back for a very big man.. Well test is a very big (tall) man. so there would be a reason for the seat to be pushed back.. Well thats all I have to say right now.. Just keep crankin out those kick ass articles my man. Cya, Caleb H.

My Reply:
I think Test would have been a really good idea if two things had happened. First he wouldn't have been able to have been shown with Steph and Shane a minute before the hit and second he would have had to be pushed out of meaningless tag team to IC/main event status. Neither of those happened so he wouldn't have made much sense as the hitman. I really like Test - my fifth favorite wrestler as a matter of fact. I really wish the angle where he called the cops on Triple H played out better. I thought that was the beginning of a huge push for him. o well sh!t happens. Thanks for reading and writing.

Hey what's up? I'm a huge WWF fan, in particular of Chyna, HHH, Al Snow, and Billy Gunn. I just finished reading your article and I thought it was great. So what is the reason you don't like the race thing used as an excuse? Why is it wrong to you? And also, I think the Rikishi was a good choice as the driver who ran over Stone Cold Steve Austin. I've never really liked Rikishi (especially after what he did to Chyna at Unforgiven), but I think he deserves to be in the main event spotlight more than people like Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, or Chris Jericho. This is the perfect opportunity for him to be in the main event and for the others to be taken out. I think that Rikishi has done someone else's dirty work. I've seen a loophole in Rikishi's confession. He said he had taken Rock's keys and ran over Steve Austin immediately after as he was leaving to go to his hotel. But Rock had reported his car stolen earlier in the day before Austin was hit, not 15 minutes before. The person who helped Rikishi would have to be someone very persuasive to have Rikishi do this, and someone with a hatred against both Rock and Austin (hitting austin, framing Rock). There are many people who fit this bill - Vince McMahon, Triple H, Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley (not at the time, but she is cold and calculating so you never know), and even the Undertaker. Maybe it wasn't any of these people. There are so many people who hate Rock and Austin, that it is nearly impossible to determine who could've done it. But it is also very possible that Rikishi did do this himself. What do you think?
Billy

My Reply:
First I want to start off by explaning the race thing. Race is always a touchy topic anywhere it comes up. Promoting a Samoan as a horribly evil man just because he is Samoan and feels that because his race has been held back he should destroy all the whites. What impression does this leave upon younger viewers or viewers who take this stuff so seriously that they think its real? They'll think "well all colored people must be bad since Rikishi ran over Austin for his people." I hope this makes sense to you. Next what you said about Rikishi deserving a push over others is something I highly disagree with. Y2J, The Wolverine, and the Olympic Twerp all are much much better wrestlers just because of their size. Their characters are also much better. They are still fun to watch. As far as the rest of the letter, you make ma
