After making friends with this Richie guy, Ash has to fight him.... On the way to the Pokeleague, he runs into Team Rocket, takes care of them and goes on to fight Richie. Richie's butterfree beats Squirtle, but Pikachu beats butterfree. Then Richie's charmander beats Pikachu. Ash brings out Charizard... Charizard beats charmander, so Richie brings out his own pikachu. Charizard does nothing.... Ash loses since charizard doesn't fight....
Well, I said Ash doesn't deserve to make it into the Pokemon League, but what was this? I wanted him to battle against a Blastoise, Venusaur, and Alakazam.... Not other unevolved Pokemon... the fact that he lost because Charizard didn't fight didn't quite satisfy me.... I feel Ash shouldn't have lost this round to Richie, because Richie seemed like a twin of Ash, i.e. they are both poor battlers. Anyways, what a crappy way to lose. I wanted 3 hardcore battles like the Charizard vs. Magmar one, where Ash ends up losing. I guess Nintendo didn't want Ash to win, but they didn't want him to lose, so they made Charizard 'screw' him out of a victory.. Oh, and for those of you who think he's a good trainer, why doesn't Charizard listen to him? If i were him, i would've used Pikachu vs. Butterfree, then Squirtle vs Charmander, then probably Bulbasaur vs. Pikachu. That would've been a much selection. So what's the bottom line? Abra K. says Ash shouldn't have lost the way he did... that was pretty crappy, but that was probably the only safe way Nintendo could get Ash to lose... Well, now that Ash is out of the Pokemon League, I wonder what's in store for him next...
