| Metal Gear Solid 2: Playable demo to be included with... |
Konami's anticipated mech-action title Zone of the Enders (Z.O.E.) has recently suffered delays, but the company hopes that a crafty promotion will rekindle interest in the next-generation shooter. Konami of America announced today that Zone of the Enders, developed by Konami's storied development house headed by Hideo Kojima, will boast a playable demo of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty from the same company. The demo will be be packaged separately and will be available at local retailers.
Zone of the Enders is a title which has maintained a fairly high profile, as Z.O.E. will serve as Konami's first title developed solely with the PlayStation 2 in mind.
"Zone of the Enders is kicking off Konami's 2001 action line-up on PlayStation 2 with a powerful one-two punch," commented Rick Naylor, Action Brand Manager for Konami of America, Inc. "With the purchase of Zone of the Enders, gamers will experience both the thrill of the game's fast-paced mech combat, and get a chance to play one of next fall's most anticipated games."
Z.O.E has the gamer assuming the role of Leo Stenbuck; who in turn takes control of a prototype mech robot: armed to the teeth, of course. The title involves space combat and the lessons Leo learns regarding the consequences of his actions. The battles are handled in an atypical combat system which allows the player to execute long-range laser attacks or to strike blows in close combat as he or she sees fit. Konami also hopes to improve upon the mech-action genre with the additions of component AI, a quality storyline and top-end visuals. |
