Official WCW Thunder Preview: Steiner Suspended

Big Poppa Pump once again. In the history of WCW, no world champion has ever gotten two suspensions during the first month of his title reign.

In an official statement, the office of the CEO assured WCW.com measures have been taken to prevent an unlawful arrival by Steiner, and Flair has promised to sign a huge main event in lieu of the world champ's absence.

Office staffers would not comment on whether Steiner's mystery opponent would compete in Memphis.

Other matches have already been signed for this tremendous program, including Shane Helms vs. Jaime Knoble, Buff Bagwell vs. Sarge Dewayne Bruce and Goldberg vs. an opponent to be named during the show (talk about pulling the short straw). Crowbar and Meng will do hardcore battle in a chair on a pole match. Unlike past hardcore contests, combatants will be limited to a single weapon of destruction.

Office personnel also said the CEO is considering Hacksaw Jim Duggan's request to face Canadian Career Killer Mike Awesome, but expressed "reservations" due to Duggan's current mental state and Team Canada's recent run of outside interference.

Once again, the office of commissioner Mike Sanders has refused [wcw.com's] requests for an official statement, but Sanders did tell WCW.com "the Thrillers will make a strong showing in Memphis." The commish also alluded to a singles match planned for former hardcore champion Reno, but would not divulge the name of his opponent.
