"Hey Yo!" Scott Hall is one of the most controversial figures in the history of wrestling. He lead the invasion that would become the New World Order, and in the process changed wrestling forever. He has had success in both the singles ranks as well as tag team competition with his Outsiders partner Kevin Nash. Hall has transcended the sport, a man who can play the hero or villain, and command the attention of the crowd just the same. Scott Hall is one of a kind.
Career History
Gained early wrestling experience internationally in Germany, Japan and Puerto Rico... Started his career in the Minneapolis AWA promotion (now defunct), Scott Hall became an instant sensation, and formed a successful team with Curt Hennig... First entered WCW in 1989, but did not gain any real attention until he changed his identity to that of "The Diamond Stud," prized charge of then manager Diamond Dallas Page... Left WCW for the WWF, where he held the Intercontinental Title... Shocked the wrestling world by showing up unannounced on the May 27, 1996 edition of Nitro, and announced that "they" were taking over. "They" turned out to be the Outsiders, and along with Hulk Hogan, formed the New World Order... Hall achieved incredible success, winning the United States, Television and World Tag Team Championships on numerous occasions... Once outlasted 59 other wrestlers to win a three-ring battle royal... When the nWo split into warring factions, Hall danced between the Wolfpac and the Black & White, never settling with one group... Personal problems and injuries have plagued him recently, but his friendship with Kevin Nash has been renewed and is stronger than ever... Fans eagerly await his return to full-time action.
Wrestling Style
Hall has the perfect wrestling physique. Big and strong, he still has full mobility, and keep up with smaller opponents, while able to match power with bigger ones... Has impressively applied his fall away slam on much larger opponents... The "Outsider Edge" powerbomb sees Hall lift an opponent crucifix-style across his back, then falls forward, driving his rival shoulders first to the mat. Hardly anyone can kick out of this finish.
Did You Know?
At one point, Hall considered leaving wrestling to go to medical school... Is recognized as one of the kings of the ladder match, and credits himself with popularizing the use of ladders in wrestling... On November 21, 1999, then-commissioner Kevin Nash awarded the WCW Television title to Hall, only to have Hall complain about the title, and Nash, to make his partner happy, tossed it in a trash can!... Hall became famous for conducting "surveys" of the crowds during WCW events, asking who the fans had come to see. No matter who the fans cheered for, Hall always said that the vote was "One more for the good guys!"... Raised in a military family, and spent his high school years in Munich, Germany.
