Fit Finlay

Height: 5'10"
Weight: 230 lbs.
Hometown: Belfast, Ireland
Debut: 1978
Signature Maneuver: Tombstone Piledriver

If you didn't know any better you would think that the WCW Hardcore Title was created with David "Fit" Finlay in mind. The "Belfast Bruiser" never had any formal training for his duty in the squared circle. As a matter of fact, his first match came at the age of 14 when his father, a promoter in Ireland, was short a wrestler and told David he was stepping in the ring. Finlay lost that match, but continued on, learning the wrestling craft as well as how to brawl. And if you have seen one Fit Finlay match, you know he has the brawling down to a tee.

Finlay wrestled throughout Ireland and England for the next several years, gaining respect as well as many European titles along the way. He entered WCW briefly in 1996, but went back to the CWA in Europe to defend his titles. WCW invited him back in September of 1997, and he has been there ever since. Within his tenure in WCW, Fit has held the Television Title as well as winning the Hardcore Invitational.

In the summer of 1999, Finlay was injured in a hardcore match against Brian Knobs. After being thrown into a table, Fit tore tendons in his leg so severe that doctors feared his career would be over. Not only has Finlay proved the doctors wrong, but he is back in full force, proving why he is one of the toughest in the business today.
