Just when you thought it was safe to go to the mall, it's the return of 3 Count! The wrestling team/musical group, following up their first single "Can't Get You Out Of My Heart," is back with a new single, a concert tour of shopping malls, and when they have the time, some of the best high-flying action you will ever see. Shannon, Shane and Evan are young, hungry grapplers, and despite their penchant for singing and dancing, they are all business when the bell rings.
Career History
Evan Karagias was established as a top cruiserweight, having defeated Disco Inferno for the coveted title at one point, before joining 3 Count... After coming out on the short end of a feud with his even shorter lived love interest Madusa, Evan teamed up with newcomers Shane and Shannon... 3 Count debuted on December 23, 1999 on Thunder... Early attempts at performing their song were interrupted by the Jung Dragons, sparking a feud that still rages on between the two... Ended up in a feud with Norman Smiley, whose dancing skills seemed to win more favor with the fans... As a result they found themselves thrust into Hardcore competition, and actually won the Hardcore title from Brian Knobs, becoming the first trio to ever win a singles title... When Shannon and Shane entered a tournament for the Cruiserweight title, they were forced to wrestle each other. Shannon won, but their friendship survived the match... Shane suffered a broken nose, derailing the team for a time... The team came back in an unusual way, doing a singing tour of shopping malls... Upon returning to active competition, restarted their feud with the Jung Dragons... While there feud with the Jung Dragons continues, they have found an unlikely new No. 1 fan -- Tank Abbott.
Wrestling Style
In the early '90s, lucha libre competitors introduced dozens of new moves never before seen in North America. Now, 3 Count has taken that foundation and built upon it, taking the risks a little farther, and flying just a little higher... Shannon and Shane have an arsenal of aerial moves, while Evan is a more traditional mat wrestler... Have come up with a unique three-man reverse powerbomb, one of the few moves specifically designed for six-man competition.
Did You Know?
The members of 3 Count do their own choreography for the dance numbers you see on Nitro... Their new single mentions other "teen sensations" such as Britney Spears and 'N Sync... Evan holds the dubious distinction of being the only man to ever lose a WCW Championship (the Cruiserweight title) to a woman (Madusa)... Evan has done modeling for fashion and fitness magazines... He took a break from wrestling in September 1998 and had a short stint as a bartender on "All My Children"... Growing up, Shannon always wanted to be a wrestler... Shannon and Shane met on the independent scene... Both Shannon and Shane racked up several regional titles along their journey through the independents... 3 Count was listed as three of Cosmopolitan's X-men in the Summer 2000 "All About Men" Special Issue.
