Gotta Catch 'Em All!

Pokémon are wild creatures which must first be captured, then trained to respond to their Trainer's commands. The more a Trainer works with a particular Pokémon, the stronger it becomes. Oftentimes, a Pokémon will evolve into an entirely new Pokémon after it has gained a certain amount of experience points.

Pokémon Trainers test their skill by challenging other Trainers to engage in Pokémon Battles. The Trainer with the most skilled and powerful Pokémon will be victorious. It is the goal of new Pokémon Trainers to prove themselves in battle by defeating rival Trainers and earning badges.

Currently, there are three different versions of Pokémon for Game Boy: Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue and Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition. The basic gameplay is the same in each of the versions, but each game contains certain Pokémon which are unique to that version. Visit our games section to learn more about the differences between the games.

To complete their collections, Trainers must use the Game Link Cable to trade Pokémon with their friends from one version to another. In addition to trading, Pokémon Trainers can also use the Game Link Cable to test their skills in a Pokémon Battle.

The Pokémon universe is huge, and it will take new Trainers long hours of dedicated searching to locate all 150 Pokémon. Only then are they able to call themselves Master Trainers, which is the ultimate goal of all Pokémon enthusiasts.

The popularity of Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow has inspired other types of great games, including Pokémon Snap for N64 and Pokémon Pinball for Game Boy Color. Even more Pokémon games are on the way, so stay tuned to Poketown for more information!
