Mewtwo Strikes Back

Mewtwo Strikes Back is one of the two Pokemon (Pocket Monsters) movies currently released in Japan. They will be released sometime in August in America. The other movie is Pikachu's Summer Vacation. I will be reviewing that movie also. Anyway, back to Mewtwo Strikes Back.

Cloning Pokemon, we've all heard of it, and some of you have tred it. So? Who is the master of the cloning procedure? No, not Prof. Oak or Bill, Mewtwo himself. Mewtwo Strikes Back is surely more action-packed and interesting than any Pokemon episode. The animation style is truly amazing-- it's so clear. It also shows more violence than usual Pokemon episodes. The story gets very in-depth, with new pokemon, suprising happenings, and awesome attacks.

I won't tell you any of the story, because, well, it's coming to America in August. It's strange how the movie is amazingly interesting with plot twists and such. I say it's strange because the current pokemon episode/movie writers aren't nearly as good as the other ones. Now you're probably saying, "What? New writers? Old writers? HUH?!" So I'll gladly explain.

Do you remember the good old first episodes? With Ash getting Pikachu, actually raising pokemon in battles? What happened? I know you all remember the legendary Japanese Porygon episode. Japanese children having seizures and stuff. Well all of the writers, and I mean ALL of the writers agreed that Pokemon would have a great downfall after that, so around the Eevee Brothers episode, they quit. After that the Pokemon staff hired a whole new batch of Pokemon writers, but they weren't nearly as good. The new writers insisted on less "violent" and "influencing"episodes. So almost every badge Ash gets now is, "Given to him, because he did a good deed." I'm not saying that Pokemon sucks, just making a point. That's why I am surprised they have made an excellent movie.

Well, I don't want to spoil anything for you, or else the movie would be bad. Don't you agree? Well, I might make a spoiler, might not, but still keep looking at the Pokemon Trainer's Lounge!!
