  • Duplicate Items/Clone Pokemon
    Go to a PC, and save. Attach the item you want to duplicate to the Pokemon you want to clone. Deposit it into the PC. Change boxes. When the screen is saying "Saving the game..." Turn off your GB. Turn it back on. You should have the deposited Pokemon in the PC, and a clone of it in your lineup. The item will either be on both monsters, or in your Backpack. Note: while doing this code, DO NOT withdraw any Pokemon. When the GB is turned back on, you'll find that the withdrawn Pokemon has been deleted. Note: You can duplicate up to 5 items/Pokemon at a time.
    WARNING: This codes may damage your GameBoy or game! Use them at your own risk!

  • Shiny Pokemon
    If you want the full benefit of this code, use a Pokemon that can evolve. Otherwise, there will be some confusion with names and so forth. First, place a flying pokemon that has been taught FLY as the first pokemon in your lineup, the "Golden Gyarados" as the sixth position, and the pokemon whose color is to be changed in the second position. After doing this, put all of the pokemon back into the PC except the first one. Next, take out the pokemon that was in the second position before, the one that will be changed. Enter the bug-catching contest that is near Kogane city. This is held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. As soon as you enter it, exit right away. When the clerk asks you if you want to quit, make sure you say NO, which is always the lower answer. Now use your Flying Pokemon to FLY out of the contest. Store the pokemon that will be changed in a PC, then go back to the contest and say YES, the top answer, to complete the contest. Return to a PC, withdraw the pokemon, and check its status screen. The pokemon will be a different color, but it will have Gyarados's name. Grow the pokemon until it evolves. You may want to use Rare Candies if you have any. Now when you go into battle with the evolved form of the original pokemon, it will have a shining status.

    Change Clock Day and Time
    · If you set your clock incorrectly or just want to change the time to set off an event, this cheat will come in very handy. To begin, have your ID number, money and name ready. At the title screen, hold Down+SELECT+B all at the same time. You will be asked if you want to reset the clock, choose yes. Now you will be asked for a password. This is the hard part. You will need to calculate three different numbers using your ID number, the amount of money you have in the game and your name. We recommend dividing a sheet of paper into three columns for the three calculations and having a calculator handy.
    Calculation #1

    Let's start with your name. Use the chart below to determine the number equivalent of the first five letters of your name. Don't do more than just the first five letters. Notice that there are different numbers for capitalized letters.

    A = 128 a = 160
    B = 129 b = 161
    C = 130 c = 162
    D = 131 d = 163
    E = 132 e = 164
    F = 133 f = 165
    G = 134 g = 166
    H = 135 h = 167
    I = 136 i = 168
    J = 137 j = 169
    K = 138 k = 170
    L = 139 l = 171
    M = 140 m = 172
    N = 141 n = 173
    O = 142 o = 174
    P = 143 p = 175
    Q = 144 q = 176
    R = 145 r = 177
    S = 146 s = 178
    T = 147 t = 179
    U = 148 u = 180
    V = 149 v = 181
    W = 150 w = 182
    X = 151 x = 183
    Y = 152 y = 184
    Z = 153 z = 185

    = 127 ) = 155
    - = 227 : = 156
    ? = 230 ; = 157
    / = 243 [ = 158
    . = 232 ] = 159
    , = 244 PK= 225
    ( = 154 MN= 226

    We'll do Wilda as an example.
    W = 150
    i = 168
    l = 171
    d = 163
    a = 160

    Now that you have the numbers, add up the corresponding numbers for the first five characters of your name.
    For Wilda, this would be 150 + 168 + 171 + 163 + 160 = 812

    Calculation #2

    Take the total amount of your money and divide it by 256 and then add the remainder to the answer.

    I have 11557 so I divide 11557 by 256
    11557 / 256 = 45 with a remainder of 37
    We add these two numbers together 45 + 37 = 82 to get our second number.

    Calculation #3

    This is done the same way as the money but we use your ID number.

    My ID is 26996 so I divide 26996 by 256
    26996 / 256 = 105 with a remainder of 116
    We add these two numbers 105 + 116 = 221 to get our third number.

    Finally, the last step. We now add your three numbers together and make it five number longs.
    812 + 82 + 221 = 1115
    This number only four digits long so we add a 0 to the front to make it five digits long.
    This makes our final number and password 01115. Enter the password this creates for you and you should be able to reset your time as often as you wish.

    Catch Ho-oh
    · This tough Pokemon is caught differently depending on which version of Pokemon you're playing (Gold or Silver). In the Gold version, after you defeat the Team Rocket Leader at the Radio Tower in Goldenrod city, the director will give you the Rainbow Wing. With this wing, you can climb up the Tin Tower at Ecruteak City, where a level 40 Ho-oh awaits you on the roof. If you can capture it, it's yours (you only have one chance, so make it count!).
    In the Silver version, after defeating the final, final trainer in the game, head to Pewter City, where an old man will give you the Rainbow Wing. Use it in the same manner as you would in the Gold version, but be warned: this Ho-oh is level 70, meaning it'll be missing the awesome Fire Blast that it would've otherwise learned at level 44.

    Eevee
    · There are a couple of ways to get a cute little Eevee in Gold/Silver. This Pokemon isn't much at first, but it can evolve into several types of powerful Pokemon, so it's worth breeding an army of them. To get your first Eevee, once you encounter Bill at Ecruteak City, make sure your inventory has at least one slot open for a Pokemon, and head over to Goldenrod City. Go to Bill's house located in the west side of the city, and Bill will hand you an Eevee. If you want a second Eevee, you can get one at the Celadon Game Corner for 6666 coins. If you want more Eevee, breed them at the Pokemon caretakers' house on Route 34. Eevee is pretty particular when it comes to the Pokemon it will breed with, but it has the best chances of breeding with other Eevee, or a Ditto. Sometimes, breeding a Jolteon and Pikachu results in an Eevee for some odd reason.

    Special Pokemon Only Available Through Breeding
    · Just as some Pokemon can only be found through evolving, some can only be caught by breeding different Pokemon. In Gold/Silver, there are six such Pokemon:
    Baby Parent

    Pichu Pikachu/Raichu
    Clefable Clefairy
    Smoochum Jynx
    Elekid Electabuzz
    Magby Magmar
    Igglybuff Jigglypuff/Wigglybuff
    There are two other Pre-evolution Pokemon that you can get in the storyline, but the only way to get more is through breeding:

    Baby Parent

    Tyrogue Hitmonlee/Hitmonchan/Hitmontop
    Togepi Togetic

    Catch Lugia!
    · The ultra-rare Lugia is caught differently depending on which version of Pokemon you're playing (Gold or Silver). In the Silver version, after you defeat the Team Rocket Leader at the Radio Tower in Goldenrod City, the director will give you the Silver Wing. Take it to the Whirl Islands along Route 41 (be sure to bring a Pokemon with HM 06 [Whirlpool] to settle the turbulent waters surrounding the islands) and enter the northeast cave. Make your way down to the bottom of the cave and enter the doorway to the left of the big waterfall (you'll have to ride down the waterfall to get there). Inside rests a level 40 Lugia, just waiting to be caught (you only have one chance, so make it count!).
    In the Gold version, after defeating the final, final trainer in the game, head to Pewter City, where an old man will give you the Silver Wing. Use it in the same manner as you would in the Silver version, but be warned: this Lugia is level 70, meaning it'll be missing some awesome moves, like the mega-powerful Aeroblast.

    Evolving Eevee into Different Pokemon
    · Eevee can evolve into five different kinds of Pokemon: Vaporeon (Water), Jolteon (Electric), Flareon (Fire), Espeon (Psychic) and Umbreon (Dark). Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon evolve from Eevee by using the Water Stone, Thunderstone and Fire Stone, respectively. Although these three Pokemon are strong, they are hard to evolve in Gold/Silver due to the limited number of evolution stones. Espeon and Umbreon do not need stones to evolve; but to get an Eevee to turn into one or the other, it must be very tame. You must pamper them and shower them with potions to get them to trust you. Once Eevee has faith in you as a good trainer, it will change into an Espeon or Umbreon the next time it levels up. If it is morning or daytime when it levels up, the Eevee will turn into Espeon. If it is nighttime, Eevee will turn into Umbreon.

While Berries heal various status ailments, Apricorns are used to make special Pokeballs. Create-a-Hitmon
    · Tyrogue is a Fighting Type Pokemon that can evolve into several different types of Pokemon. To get this rare monster, you must head to Mt.Mortar with no more than five Pokemon in your possession. Make sure that your Pokemon have HM 03 (Surf), HM 05 (Flash) and HM 07 (Waterfall), and enter the middle entrance of the mountain. (The middle entrance can be reached by heading east across the water from the first entrance east of Ecruteak City.) Once inside, use Flash, and then Surf and Waterfall up the waterfall, and enter the hole on top of the screen. Go through the maze to reach the ladder at the northwest side of the cave. Kiyo, the Karate Master, will be on the right side. After you defeat him, talk to him again to receive Tyrogue. This Pokemon is pretty whack, but at level 20, it can evolve into Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan or Hitmontop, depending on the its Attack and Defend stats at the time of evolution. (If Attack is greater than Defend, you'll get Hitmonlee; if Attack is less than Defend, you'll get Hitmonchan; if the two stats are equal, you'll get Hitmontop.)
