Originally called Pokémon Attack, this game has not been released in Japan and probably won't be released in Japan first. There's supposedly going to be 250 Pokémon in the game, and as the original title imposes, it'll have gameplay similar to Tetris attack.
In Tetris Attack you basically tried to align blocks with the same color together. Three would eliminate the group causing lone blocks from above to fall, possibly clearing out more blocks, creating combos, and giving extra lines to your opponent. Puzzle League is basically the same thing, however there are some new power-ups included, and new gameplay modes. On the N64 version you can now play with a cylindrical 3D board which creates an even greater challenge. There is six modes: Main Stadium, Puzzle University, Mimic Mansion, Pokemon Spa, Time Zone and Marathon Field.
Obviously the pictures below cannot possibly from the Gameboy version. There's actually going to be two different versions, one for Gameboy and one for the N64. It might also even use the Transfer Pak to be interactive between both platforms. Expect the Gameboy version to be released later than the N64 version, sometime in late November.
