start

you start out the game by setting the games eternal clock. after that oak will explain the world of pokemon again and then you will get to choose your name.

finally you'll start out in your room, head down the stairs to have a talk with your mum. she'll what day is it and then give you your pokegear.

like red,blue adn yellow head to the local proffesor next door. his name is proffesor utsugi and after a talk will let you choose one of the three starting pokemon:chikorita the grass pokemon, hinoarashi the fire pokemon, or waninoko the water pokemon.

after choosing your pokemon proffesor utsugi will tell you that the machine in the corner heals pokemon.

next head outside and start exploring.

proffesor oak/ pokedex

next you'll want to trie find proffesor oak.you'll pass through a city called yoshino city to get to him.

when first enter the city talk to the man below you. he will show you the town and give you a map card for your pokegear when you go into his house and talk to him again.

you'll eventually find him since one of the paths is blocked by two battling trainers. oak will introduce hiself and give you a high-tec version of the pokedex.

you'll rest for the night, and in the morning utsugi calls you and tells you to come back to wakaba town, something has happened.

your rival

someone has stolen proffesor utsugi's pokemon, and just your luck that the pokemon has an advantage over your's. well it looks like you just found your new rival.

wakaba town

head back and talk with proffesor utsugi to see what's going on. you'll then name your new rival.

on your way out of the lab, the scientist at the bottom will give you five pokeballs.

when you exit the city a man will want to show how to catch pokemon with your new pokeballs.

kikyou city gym-badge 1

after catching and battling the new/old pokemon you'll be ready to face the gym leader, hayato. he uses bird pokemon and is not difficult to defeat.

once you beat hayato he will give you the wing badge.it will allow you to use flash anytime.

bellsprout tower

in kikyou head north to find bellsprout tower. you'll encounter monks with bellsprouts and the occasional ho-ho. at the top your rival beats up a monk and runs off after talking to you. defeat the monk and he will give you HM05, flash

togepi-kikyou city pokecenter

after defeating hayato, a scientist will show up in the pokemoncenter. talk to him and he will give you an egg (you must have one slot open for it in your pokemon line up.)

the egg will hatch after you walk so many steps and turn into togepi. there is a man blocking the most southern exit of the town and if you don't have togepi he won't let you past.

there's also a house in kikyou you can trade a bellsprout fo an onix. the level that the onix is will depend the level the bellsprout is.

puzzles

next you head west of kikyou city and run into a cave entrance. inside will be a puzzle that you have to put together.

once you discover it was kabuto, the floor will drop down and you will fall into an other cave below.inside are a bunch of pokemon called annon. they have no gender, but they do have different shapes. don't get confused though they all have the same pokedex entry.

to unlock more shapes you'll have to surf, strenth, break rocks towards the 3 entrances of the cave (like the kabuto one where there is a puzzle to solve) you can find them by going threw the cave between hiwanda/kikyou city. after you solve all the puzzle go into the cave and catch 3 different annon shapes.

exit the cave and a scientist will upgrade your pokedex. now after you catch a annon shape it will be racorded under here and you can take a look to see which one you have by pressing select while in the pokedex and then choosing the last option.

old rod

next you'll encounter a lone pokecenter enter it and you will find a fishing guru talk to him and he will give you a pokemon rod

continue on and you will pass through a cave with rock pokemon and trainers inside. if you look on friday night you can find lapras deep within the cave if you use surf.

slowpoke town

after exiting the tunnel well and the local gym guarded by team rocket members. it seems team rocket has kidnapped all the slowpokes from the town.

first you'll need to talk to the house right above the gym. he'll move the rocket member guarding the well. next it's your turn to defeat the rocket members. once defeated the gym will open, you'll be able to fight tsukushi.

hiwanda gym-badge 2

tsukushi uses 3 bug pokemon. so if you chose hinoarashi as your starting pokemon you will really have the advantage, especially against syther.

tsukushi will give you an insect badge which let's all pokemon over 30 obey you.

rival-round 2

hey, your rival is back. this time it won't be so easy as the first time. you'll encounter your rival just on the edge of slowpoke town. (when you trie to leave)

HM01-cut

after you leave the previous city you'll enter a forest. you'll see a man standing next to a cutable bush.

after him you will see a bird pokemon by himself. chase it around till it reaches the man next to the cutable bush. talk to the new man and he will give you cut.

now cut that cutable bush to get on to the next town.

TM02

inside the ubane forest maze is a guy who will give you TM02. TM02 lets you shake the little trees that everywhere in the game.

kogane city gym-badge 3

kogane city is pretty big. the poke mart is kile the one in celadon department store.theres plenty to do but lets get down to buisness. it's the gym leader's badge you want isn't it?

all the trainer use normal pokemon in kogane city gym. right before akane there's a trainer that likes to use jigglypuffs, 3 of them. so you might want to stop at the local pokecenter to wake your pokemon up before you fight her

akane won't give you the regular badge at first. talk to the trainer below her then you'll get it.

entomology zone

if you talk to the guy inside the next watch station that looks like a safari zone warden, you'll get something like the safari zone but you only can catch bug pokemon.

some other differences:

1. you get to catch one pokemon

2. press start and the round is over

3. it's free

4. you get 20 silver pokeballs

5. there are no rocks, or bait, but you can battle with the pokemon in your first slot.

this bug catcher's tournament is only held on tuesday (kayoobi), thursday (mokouoobi, and saturday (doyoobi)

a ghost town

after usokki you will reach enjyu city. after healing your pokemon at the pokecenter you can go to the local gymleader, matsuba.

it would have been handy to have kadabra by now.

enjyu city gym-badge 4

there is aghost floor surface which continually has you falling through, but to get to the other side, you must walk directly forward in front of the gym trainer, then walk directly left/right, but before reaching the edge, walk directly in front of an other trainer.

the gymleader use phycic pokemon so it would be best to use kadabra or drowzee.

matsuba will give you the phantom badge for winning. all pokemon up to level 50 will obey you now.

surf

two more things to do here. inside the town there is a man with five daughters. each daughter has a evee ecvolution (two new ones a phycic one and a dark one). if you defeat all five talk to the man with the hat, he will give you HM03, surf.

once you enter the tower your rival will fight you. if you have that kadabra now is the time to use it.

once your rival is deafeated and leaves it time to explore the tower.

if you taught HM08 to one of your pokemon, now is the time to use it.

fight the trainer and you can fall down the hole in the middle. go up to the stone statues and they will awaken, then scatter. these are the three leagendery dogs, you may run into them later on in the game so be prepared.

next head west battling some new trainers and finding new pokemon such as buru (snubble). then go south to agasi city.

gymleader is missing.

head to the house next to the pokecanter. talk to the guy and he will give you HMO4.

next head to the tower which is southeast in the town. scale to the top battling trainers and you'll find mikan. that you get some medicine for her sick pokemon.

you'll get that later, but first, time to surf to taban city.

where is taban?

taban city can be reached by surfinf from asagi city. you'll encounter alot of tentacool and tentacreul on the way. not to mention a few trainers.

heal your pokemon at the pokecenter then head off to fight the gymleader. to get passed the stones blocking your way, you must press the stones blocking your way, you must press the stones on the ends using strength. then press the middle stone to the left.

again kadabra comes in handy.

shijima will give you the shock badge for winning. which lets pokemon over level 70 obey you.

after beating shijima talk to the lady outside the gym to get HM02.

now surf back to agasi city.

#213 tsubotsubo

theres a guy that will give you tsubotsubo on taban if you only bring 5 pokemon.

medicine

stop by this house to get the medicine mikan needs for her sick pokemon.

after recieving the medicine from the guy inthe glasses on taban, go back to mikan at the top of the tower, give her the medicine, and she will go back to her gym.

asagi city gym-badge 6

once you beat mikan, the steel badge is yours.

next head back to enjyu city, the one with the ghost gymleader. then exit east from the city using the route gate and you'll come across MT. suribachi on route 42.

baruki

deep inside MT suribatchi is a trainer that will give you buruki if you beat him. make sure you bring 5 pokemon with you or he will not give you it.

you can easily get passed the mountain if you have trouble surfing in the water outside the mountain.

golden gyarados

the town gym is being blocked by a rocket member so you'll have to find something else to do.

head north battling trainer and pokemon until you reach a lake with a golden gyarados in it. surf out to the middle and fight it there's only one so catch it.

lance

after catching the golden gyarados you'll see lance standing beside a sign. talk to him and he will tell you he needs help, choju town has a secret rocket base that needs to be demolished. so you answer yes to his question, he'll fly off, then go back to choju town.

if you head to the middle of the town where a guy is selling things you'll find lance inside. he'll show you the secret door to rockets base.

make sure your pokemon are strong alot of rocket members will go at you in here.

team rocket hideout-level 1

remember to talk with every one in this level, even if they don't face you.

teamrocket hideout-level 2

lance will talk to you when you get to level 2. make sure you talk with everyone in battle.

team rocket hideout-level 3

you need to talk with everyone in this level aswell, and look on all the computers. after opening up the door with the bird inside, defeat the trainer then talk with the bird.

then head back to 2nd level, and open up the door. fight some more, then fight the electrodes.

lance will thank you and give you HM06, whirlpool.

choju gym-badge 7

yanagi uses ice pokemon. if you picked up a magmar from earlier, ha'd be useful.

when you beat yanagi you'll get the ice badge.

before heading on you'll have to backtrack. utsugi calls you to tell you that kogane city has been taken over by teamrocket.

head back to kogane for some rocket fun.
