Old man on the roof

Go to Cinnabar Island without the secret key. Surf until you are just in front of and just to the right of the door to the gym. Go back on the island right there. It will say "The Door Is Locked". Look on the roof and you will see a man.



Beat your rival when you begin a game

Start a new game. While you are in the house, find the computer and withdraw the potion..Continue the game as usual, but when you fight your rival, use the potion when your guy is almost fainted.



Skip Seafoam Islands

Fly to Pallet Town then surf from the water there to Cinnabar Island.



Catch Tangela

Fly to Pallet town. Go to the water and surf towards Cinnabar Island. On your right you will see some land with a patch of grass. Go to the patch of grass. Tangelas live there.



Avoid Wild Pokemon

If your Pokemon are in critical condition, and ther is an unavoidable patch of grass between you and the Pokemon center, you can cut away grass with cut.
