PokeMon Walkthrough

When you start the game, you will be in your room. Before you do anything else, go into your PC, and you will find a potion ready. Then go downstairs and out the door and go north and walk into the grass. Prof. Oak will stop you and will take you to his lab. Your rival will be there (I will refer to him as Gary, his actual name) and the professor will talk and then you may choose your PokeMon (for beginners, choose Bulbasaur, for intermediates, choose Squirtle, and for experts, choose Charmander) Then Gary will choose the PokeMon to the right of your choice. Then try to leave and Gary will challenge you. Fight him and if you win, he will say that he picked the wrong PKMN (pokemon) and if you lose, he will say he's the best. Also, if you win, your pokemon should raise to level 6.

After you fight Gary, you can go into the grassy area and fight PKMN, but you can't catch them yet. Be sure to talk to the guy past the first ledge and get the potion from him. Then walk up to Viridian and heal you PKMN. Then go to the mart and get the Parcel. Next, go all the way back to Pallet Town, jumping from the ledges. Go into Prof. Oak's lab and deliver his parcel. Then Gary will come in and you will get your Pokedex from Prof. Oak. Go back to your house and talk to your mom. She will tell you to take a nap and you heal all of your PKMN. Then head back to Viridian. Also, you will be able to recieve a potion from a guy that is standing on the left side of the path to Virdian City.

This time, go to the PKMN Center if you need to and then go to the PKMN Mart and buy Poke Balls and Antidotes. Then go into the grass you've been traveling through and catch a Pidgey and Rattata. Then go back into Viridian and this time go west. Walk around in the small square area and catch both a Nidoran male and a Nidoran female. Head back to Viridian and heal your PKMN. Then go north until you reach a big building. Enter it and exit and you will be in Viridian Forest.

One you are in, walk west and stop before you go into the grass. Then go north and go into the grass and then walk west to get a Pokeball. Then head back and this time, walk in the grass until a Pikachu appears. Catch it along with Weedle and Caterpie. TIP: To easily raise you weak PKMN, have them fight Kakunas or Metapods. Then head east and stop before you reach the grass. Head north until you reach the trainer. It will be easier to defeat him if you have a Charmander with Ember. After you defeat him, head north again until you reach another trainer. He will have one Metapod and one Kakuna, along with a Caterpie and Weedle. Again, use your weaker PKMN on Metapod and Kakuna. Then head west and go through the maze. On the last curve, head a little more south and get the ion there. DO NOT WASTE YOUR IONS. But NEVER TRY TO KEEP ON FIGHTING WHEN YOU ONLY HAVE ONE POKEMON LEFT! If you lose to a trainer or wild pokemon, you will faint out and will have to lose half of the money you had.

Before you are able to get out of Virdian Forest, you will have to face another pokemon trainer. Once you get out, head straight North and you will be able to reach a Pokemon Center for much needed medical attention. You are now in PEWTER CITY. Once you have healed your pokemon, you should go back to Virdian Forest or the grassy area in front of the exit of the Virdian Forest, and train your pokemon. Brock has a level 12 Geodude and a Level 14 Onix. If you chose Charmander in the beginning of the game, you will be in for a harsh, long battle, and you will be needing a well trained grass-type pokemon to wear out the rock pokemon owned by Brock. If you chose Squirtle or Balbasaur in the beginning, you will be taking Brock's pokemon to the ground if it is over level 15. You should always keep a "back-up pokemon" so in case your frontier pokemon dies, you will have someone strong enough to finish the battle off. My reccomendations for your first team would be your starting pokemon, a grass-type pokemon, and a Pikachu, becuase you will be needing him for the next Gym leader. Our tactics for beating Brock is having as many strong pokemon with you as possible and NEVER, NEVER SKIP A GYM LEADER'S LIEUTENANT. You will be needing all the experience you can get before facing the gym leader. In case you die out, ALWAYS SAVE BEFORE FIGHTING A TRAINER! As I've said before, you will lose half your money if you lose!

Another thing to look at is the PokeMart and the Museum of Science. It has "a lot" of things to look at. Since the fee is only 50 yen, you might as well as go into the museum. You will be able to see the fossilized Aerodactyl and Kabutops. You will also see the moon stone... well not see it but you will get to know what you clicked. On the Upper floor, there will be a space shuttle, but that has nothing to do with pokemon. Now that you saw the fossils, you think you can go out and catch one out in the grass somewhere......
WRONG!
You cannot find fossils in any grassy area in the game. If someone says that there is a cheat that let's you find one, well then that's different, but let's go with what I know here for right now. You can E-mail us when you know something like that. Anyway, say you walk out the door of the museum, and you walk upwards, and you see another building. You wonder what it inside, and so you try to get inside, but then you find a stink'n bush at your face that won't let you through. To get inside the building, you must wait until you beat Misty (I think), the gym leader of Cruelean City and water pokemon. You will also have to wait until you get the HM 01, the item that let's you teach the ability cut.
The HM will be given to you on the S.S. Anne, which is in Vermilion City, which is far away from where you stand now.

Now that you have beaten the Brock, people are starting to see you as worthy opponents, so, once you go East out of Pewter City, you will be fighting many trainers until you can get to Mt. Moon, your destiny... for now that is. There will be eight trainers to fight, but if you don't care to fight, just be sure to stay out of their line of sight. There are some trainers that you just can't avoid, no matter how far you gat away from them. Just remember to save before fighting a trainer. The trainers you will be fighting mostly consists of Bug Catchers, Youngster, and Jr. Trainer (F). Their pokemon will mostly be lower than the Brock's pokemon, but If your opponent has only one pokemon, it will mean that they are going to have one, really strong pokemon. You will never know how many pokemon your opponent has until you start battling, so you might want to keep a strong pokemon up front, just to be safe. If you see that your weaker pokemon can gain good amount of expirience points from the pokemon without dying, than you can always switch the pokemon. Before you get to Mt. Moon, you will see a patch of grass. You will be able to find Spearows there, as well as a Jigglypuff if you're lucky. If you're are planning to catch the pokemon, you might want to stock up on pokeballs before you go out. And also, you might want to stock up on ions as well as other healing medicines, because Mt. Moon is going to be one heck of a journey.

MT. MOON
Alright, here you are standing in front of Mt. Moon, and you don't know where to go, and that's where I'm suppose to help. There are four ways to get out of Mt. Moon. One is getting all the items and getting out the long way. Another is to face all the trainers and get out. The third one is that you do both of them. Lastly, you could just go through the mazes to JUST go to the exit.
1. When you get in through the entrance of Mt. Moon, you will have walls on both sides. a. If you are willing to face a trainer, go on the right side of the entrance and walk straight up, and you will be seen by a trainer. I really don't remember what her pokemon was, but I think it is a Jr. Trainer (F). If you don't want to fight the trainer, stay on the left side. Trainers, I have to tell ya, ther are just some trainers that you just cannot avoid, and they have to be faced. There are plenty of other trainers roaming around, especially Hikers, they will have a team of Rock pokemon as well as Fighting pokemon.
b. If you are willing to get the items, and go out, you will have to do that on your own for right now, I will get to this later.
c. If you are doing it ALL, then just read all of A and B when they are COMPLETE!
d. Alright, this is where I really start writing.
