01XXD8CF Catch any pokemon and fight any trainer in any version. Works in any grassy area. When you fight a trainer (even elite four) you will fight that pokemon instead of the trainer and can catch it. If you use the trainer codes you can fight that trainer either in the grass or when you fight a trainer. The game crashes when he sends out his first pokemon. When you use the Gary codes his name will be whatever you called him at the start of the game.

Other codes
99 of any item that you can get more than two of
Put the item that you want to have 99 of in 6th position. Go to the man in the top-left corner of Veridian City say you're not in a hurry, fly to Cinnabar Island. Surf up and down to the right of the gym until you see a wild Missingno and kill it. Go onto the land and check in your items, it should have 99. It may come up with a blur with a 9.
Another way to get 99 items
Talk to the old man in veridian city, say no FLY to Fuschia city go south to the coast take a left until the wall surf follow the wall on the left of the screen go up and down the coast of the island without getting off your Pokemon
Duplicate pokemon
First talk to the old man and say yes then talk to him again and say no. After that fly to Cinnabar Island and surf on the right side of the gym. When a level 0 Missingno. appears catch it and catch the ditto taht appears. Make sure the pokemon you want to dulplicate is in the fourth position. Give the Ditto a rare candy and that pokemon will turn in to the pokemon in the fouth position.
(Warning may mess up your game so don't save if messed up!)
To Get Pokemon 'M'
Go to Viridian City talk to the guy who said he just had his coffee, then fly to Cinnabar Island and surf on the right side of the gym.
Pokémon Duplication
When trading with a partner, go into the Trade center in the Cable Club and trade pokemon. The one with the good pokemon will wait. Before it says 'Trade Completed' and after 'Waiting...', on the blank screen, turn the game with the good pokemon off. Partner then turns his off and they both turn GameBoys back on at the same time.
Phantom PC
Go to the city with the BIG pokemon department store (Celedon). Then go to the Hotel which is about the same size as a Pokemon center inside. Go to the far right wall. Push A where a computer would be in a normal pokecenter. You'll log onto a normal computer but there isn't really one there.
Cut down the grass
Use a pokemon with cut to cut out a 4x4 squre of grass. Usefull when you don't want to fight a wild pokemon.
Fish in statues
Some statues let you fish in them. The ones in Misty's gym work best.
More powerful attack
While you are attacking hold down the A button and your attack will be more powerful. This works on the other pokemon but in reverse (The pokemon does less damage to you).
HOW TO GET MEW (pokemon 151) WITHOUT USING ANY CODES!
This isn't as easy as it sounds...
1. It is crucial that you DO NOT!!! go onboard the S.S. ANNE at VERMILLLION CITY.
If you do, the trick is null and void!!
2. Link up with a friend that has a pokemon with the CUT ability (HM01).
3. Play through the game until you have pokemon with the SURF (HM03) and
STRENGTH (HM04). Then go to VERMILLION CITY.
4. Go on the gang plank that is the entrance way to the boat. Instead of getting
on the boat, use your pokemon with SURF to swim to the ground to the right of it.
5. When you go onto the ground, you will see a truck. Use your pokemon with STRENGHTH
to move the truck. After you move the truck, you will see the icon of a pokeball or of
a pokemon (like when you encounter MEWTWO). Which icon you get depends on the color of
pokemon you have. Engage this icon. You will now be fighting MEW (pokemon 151).
MEW starts at level 10. His abilities are TRANSFORM and a random other ability.
He will learn MEGA PUNCH at level 20, METRONOME at level 30, and PSYCHIC at level 40.
He gets 4 HP UP extra after each level up. Until he reaches level 25, he needs less
than 1000 Experience Points to gain a level. He has NO WEAKNESSES to ANY certain
pokemon type. I have also heard reports that if you get him without Game Genie,
he gets boosted EXP. like a traded pokemon. Who ever said that MEWTWO was the best
pokemon was wrong! MEWTWO starts at level 70, granted but needs 19000 EXP. to become
level 71. MEW is better. I got MEW at level 10, and ten minutes later I already had
him upto level 17
ALTERNATE WAY TO GET MEW!!! (JAPANESE GREEN OR GOLD VERSION ONLY)
1. Collect all 150 pokemon.
2. Go to YAMABUKI CITY (a.k.a. Saffron City U.S. version).
3. Look around for a while in the houses until you find the right guy. He
will ask if you have all 150 pokemon. If you do, he will give you MEW!
