Can't find those elusive Pokemon? This guide will tell you where to find all 151 pokemon in the Red and Blue versions. Go catch 'em all!

Bulbasaur: One of the starting Pokemon, you can choose this from Prof. Oak.
Ivysaur: Evolves from Bulbasaur.
Venusaur: Evolves from Ivysaur.

Charmander: One of the starting Pokemon, you can choose this from Prof. Oak
Charmeleon: Evolves from Charmander.
Charizard: Evolves from Charmeleon.

Squirtle: One of the starting Pokemon, you can choose this from Prof. Oak.
Wartortle: Evolves from Squirtle.
Blastoise: Evolves from Wartortle.

Caterpie: Found in Route 2, Viridian Forest, or Route 25
Metapod: Evolves from Caterpie at Level 7 or find in Viridian Forest, Route 24, or Route 25.
Butterfree: Evolves from Metapod.

Weedle: Found in Viridian Forest, Route 2, Route 24, or Route 25.
Kakuna: Evolves from Weedle at Level 7 or find in Viridian Forest, Route 24, or Route 25.
Beedrill: Evolves from Kakuna.

Pidgey: Found in most places, but try Routes 2, 25, 5, 7, 8, and 6.
Pidgeotto: Evolves from Pidgey at Level 18, or find in Routes 15 and 14.
Pidgeot: Evolves from Pidgeotto.

Rattata: Found almost everywhere, but try Routes 1, 2, 15 and 14.
Raticate: Evolves from Rattata at Level 20, or find in Routes 17, 16, and 18.

Spearow: Found in Routes 17, 18, 16, 3, 4, 9, and 22.
Fearow: Evolves from Spearow at Level 20, or find in Route 23, 17, or 18.

Ekans: Is in the Red version, and can be seen but not caught in the Blue version. Found in Route 23, 4, 9, 8, or 11.
Arbok: Is in the Red version, and can be seen but not caught in the Blue version. Found in Route 23 or the Unknown Dungeon.

Pikachu: Found in Viridian Forest of the Power Plant.
Raichu: Evolves from Pikachu with the Thunderstone or found in the Power Plant, the Unknown Dungeon, or Route 23.

Sandshrew: Can be seen, but not caught in the in the Red version. In the Blue version, found in Route 23, 11, 8, 4, or 9.
Sandslash: Can be seen but not caught in the Red version. In the Blue version it evolves from Sandshrew at Level 22 or can be found in the Unknown Dungeon or Route 23.

Nidoran (F): Found in the Safari Zone or Route 22.
Nidorina: Evolves from female Nidoran at Level 16, or found in Safari Zone, Route 8, or at the Game Corner.
Nidoqueen: Evolves from Nidorina with the Moon Stone.

Nidoran (M): Found in the Safari Zone or Route 22.
Nidorino: Evolves from Level 16, win at the Game Corner, or find in the Safari Zone.
Nidoking: Evolves from Nidorino with the Moon Stone.

Clefairy: Win in Game Corner, or find in Mt. Moon.
Clefable: Evolves from Clefairy with the Moon Stone.

Vulpix: Can be seen, but not caught in the Red version. Found on Cinnabar Island or Routes 8 or 7.
Ninetales: Can be seen, but not caught in the Red version. Evolves from Vulpix with the Fire Stone.

Jigglypuff: Found in Route 3.
Wigglytuff: Found in the Unknown Dungeon, or evolves from Jigglypuff with the Moon Stone.

Zubat: Found in Mt. Moon, Rock Tunnel, or the Seafoam Islands.
Golbat: Found in the Seafoam Islands, Route 23, or evolves from Zubat at Level 22.

Oddish: Can be seen, but not caught in the Blue version. Found in Routes 5, 7, 6, 24, 25, 12, 13, 14, or 15.
Gloom: Can be seen, but not caught in the Blue version. Evolves from Oddish at Level 21 or found on Routes 12, 13, 14, or 15.
Vileplume: Can be seen, but not caught in the Blue version. Evolves from Gloom with Leaf Stone.

Paras: Found in the Safari Zone or Mt. Moon.
Parasect: Evolves from Paras at Level 24, or find in the Safari Zone of the Unknown Dungeon.

Venonat: Found in the Safari Zone or Toues 12, 13, 14 or 15.
Venomoth: Evolves from Venonat at Level 31, or find in the Unknown Dungeon, Victory Road or Safari Zone.

Diglett: Found in Diglett’s Cave.
Dugtrio: Found in Diglett’s Cave, or evolves from Diglett at Level 26.

Meowth: Can be seen, but not caught in the Red Version. Found in Routes 5, 6, 7, or 8.
Persian: Can be seen but not caught in the Red version. Evolves from Meowth at Level 28.

Psyduck: Get by fishing in Safari Zone or Cerulean City, or find in the Seafoam Islands, Route 4, 24, or 29.
Golduck: Evolves from Psyduck at Level 33, or find in the Seafoam Islands.

Mankey: Can be seen, but not caught in the Blue version. Found in Routes 5, 6, 7, or 8.
Primeape: Can be seen, but not caught in the Blue version. Evolves from Mankey at Level 28.

Growlithe: Can be seen, but not caught in the Blue version. Found on Cinnabar Island, or in Routes 7 or 8.
Arcanine: Can be seen, but not caught in the Blue version. Evolves from Growlithe with the Fire Stone.

Poliwag: Get by fishing in Pallet Town, Viridian City, Route 22, or Vermilion City.
Poliwhirl: Evolves from Poliwag at Level 25, or get by fishing in Celadon City or Route 9.
Poliwrath: Evolves from Poliwhirl through trading.

Abra: Win in the Game Corner, or find in Routes 24 and 25.
Kadabra: Evolves from Abra at Level 16, or find in the Unknown Dungeon.
Alakazam: Evolves from Kadabra when traded through a Game Link Cable.

Machop: Found in Rock Tunnel or Victory Road.
Machoke: Evolves from Machop at Level 28, or find in Victory Road.
Machamp: Evolves from Machoke when traded through a Game Link Cable.

Bellsprout: Can be seen, but not caught in the Red version. Found in Routes 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 15, 24, or 25.
Weepinbell: Can be seen, but not caught in the Red version. Evolves from Bellsprout at Level 21, or find in Routes 12, 13, 14, or 15.
Victreebell: Can be seen, but not caught in the Red version. Evolves from Weepinbell with a Leaf Stone.

Tentacool: Found in Routes 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, or get by fishing in Pallet Town.
Tentacruel: Evolves from Tentacool at level 30.

Geodude: Found in Victory Road, Rock Tunnel, or Mt. Moon.
Graveler: Evolves from Geodude at Level 25, or find on Victory Road.
Golem: Evolves from Graveler when traded through a Game Link Cable.

Ponyta: Catch on Cinnabar Island.
Rapidash: Evolves from Ponyta at level 40, or find in the Unknown Dungeon.

Slowpoke: Get by fishing in Celadon City, Safari Zone, Cinnabar Island, Routes 9 or 10, or found in the Seafoam Islands.
Slowbro: Evolves from Slowpoke at level 37, or find in Route 23, the Unknown Dungeon, or the Seafoam Islands.

Magnemite: Found in the Unknown Dungeon or the Power Plant.
Magneton: Evolves from Magnemite at level 30, or find in the Unknown Dungeon or the Power Plant.

Farfetch’d: Trade in the building to the right of where you get the Bike Voucher in Vermilion City.

Doduo: Found in Routes 16, 17, 18 or in the Safari Zone.
Dodrio: Evolves from Doduo at Level 31, or find in the Unknown Dungeon.

Seel: Found in the Seafoam Islands or Cinnabar Island.
Dewgong: Evolves from Seel at level 34, or found in the Seafoam Islands.

Grimer: Found in Cinnabar Island.
Muk: Evolves from Grimer at Level 38, or find in Cinnabar Mansion or the Unknown Dungeon.

Shellder: Get by fishing in Vermilion City or Routes 6, 19, 20 or 21.
Cloyster: Evolves from Shellder with the Water Stone.

Gastly: Found in Pokemon Tower.
Haunter: Evolves from Gastly at level 25, or find in Pokemon Tower.
Gengar: Evolves from Haunter when traded through a Game Link Cable.

Onix: Found on Victory Tunnel or Rock Tunnel.

Drowzee: Found in Route 11.
Hypno: Evolves from Drowzee at Level 26, or find in the Unknown Dungeon.

Krabby: Get by fishing almost anywhere, especially Routes 4, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18 or 25.
Kingler: Evolves from Krabby at level 28, or find in the Seafoam Islands, or by fishing in the Unknown Dungeon with the Super Rod.

Voltorb: Found in the Power Plant or Route 9.
Electrode: Evolves from Voltorb at level 30, or found in Cinnabar Mansion, the Power Plant, or the Unknown Dungeon.

Exeggcute: Found in the Safari Zone.
Exeggutor: Evolves from Exeggcute with the Leaf Stone.

Cubone: Found in Pokemon Tower.
Marowak: Evolves from Cubone at Level 28, or find in Victory Road or the Unknown Dungeon.

Hitmonlee: One of your choices after beating the Saffron City’s Dojo.

Hitmonchan: Your other choice after Beating Saffron City’s Dojo.

Lickitung: Trade with another trainer in Route 18’s Lookout Tower.

Koffing: Found in Cinnabar Mansion.
Weezing: Evolves from Koffing at level 35, or find in Cinnabar Mansion.

Rhyhorn: Catch in Safari Zone.
Rhydon: Evolves from Rhyhorn at level 42, or find in the Unknown Dungeon.

Chansey: Found in the Safari Zone of the Unknown Dungeon.

Tangela: Trade with another trainer or catch in Route 21.

Kangaskhan: Found in the Safari Zone.

Horsea: Get by fishing in Cinnabar Island, Routes 21, 19, 20, and Celadon, or find in the Seafoam Islands.
Seadra: Evolves from Horsea at level 32. Found in the Seafoam Islands, or get by fishing in Route 23 or the Unknown Dungeon using the Super Rod.

Goldeen: Get by fishing in Routes 24, 25, 4, 11, 12, 18, 19, 20, 21 or 22.
Seaking: Evolves from Goldeen at level 33, or find in the Unknown Dungeon or Route 23.

Staryu: Get by fishing in Routes 19, 20, 21, or Cinnabar Island, or find in the Seafoam Islands.
Starmie: Evolves from Staryu with a Water Stone.

Mr. Mime: Found by trading the house on Route 2 after Diglett’s Cave.

Scyther: Not in the Blue Version. Win in the Game Corner, or find at the Safari Zone.

Jynx: Trade with another trainer in Northern Cerulean City.

Electabuzz: Not in the Blue Version. Catch at the Power Plant.

Magmar: Not in the Red Version. Found in Cinnabar Mansion.

Pinsir: Not in Red Version. Win in the Game Corner, or find at the Safari Zone.

Tauros: Catch in the Safari Zone.

Magikarp: Get by fishing in Routes 12, 13, 17, 18 or Fuschia City.
Gyrados: Evolves from Magikarp at level 20.

Lapras; Get at the end of Saffron City’s Silph Co. building.

Ditto: Found in the Unknown dungeon or Routes 13, 14, 15 or 23.

Eevee: Go through the back of Celadon Mansion and go up.
Vaporeon: Evolves from Eevee with the Water Stone
Jolteon: Evolves from Eevee with the Thunderstone.
Flareon: Evolves from Eevee with the Fire Stone.

Porygon: Win at the Game Corner.

Omanyte: Choose the Helix Fossil and give it to the lab at Cinnabar Island.
Omastar: Evolves from Omanyte at Level 40.

Kabuto: Choose the Dome Fossil and give it to the scientist at Cinnabar Island.
Kabutops: Evolves from Kabuto at Level 40.

Aerodactyl: Use Cut to get behind the Museum and give the Old Amber to the scientist on Cinnabar Island.

Snorlax: Found at Route 16 or 12 using the Poke Flute to wake it up.

Articuno: Found at the "end" of the Seafoam Islands.

Zapdos: Found at the "end" of the Power Plant.

Moltres: Found at the" end" of Victory Road.

Dratini: Win in Game Corner, or catch in the Safari Zone.
Dragonair: Evolves from Dratini at level 30.
Dragonite: Evolves from Dragonite at level 55.

Mewtwo: Found at the "end" of the Unknown Dungeon.
